Great headphones for frequent casual use,

This review is from: NEW JVC HARX700 HIGH-GRADE FULL-SIZE HEADPHONES (HEADPHONES) (Electronics)
I use these headphones with my computer when I want to listen to music, watch TV, watch youtube, whatever... They're comfortable to wear for several hours straight, they fit great for me (big head, 7-3/4. Think, big head even for my size (6'3, 250 pounds)), and the cord is plenty long and durable. Pro: + Good quality sound, even when I crank it up a fair ways + Closed headphone construction means you can crank your music without bothering the people around you. Also helps insulate you from some of the surrounding noise. + Around-the-ear eacups with padded, crinkled pads let you wear these quite a while without your ears getting hot + Long, durable cord lets you move around. + Overall construction is good, has survived many a fall / yank from my head, as well as running the cord over with my office chair Con: - None relevant. I'm really happy with these for the price (I paid about $60 for them I think). Overall these are great and I'd get them again if I need another pair of headphones and don't have much time to comparison shop.

Good phones for a large head,

Sound: I use these phones for watching Neflix on my PC when my wife is hogging the remote in the other room. They are plugged into a Dell soundbar attached to my monitor which is in turn attached to the integrated motherboard sound. It's not a hi-fi rig by any means. Nevertheless, I was instantly impressed by the clarity and detail of the sound coming out of these earphones compared to the dock speakers.Comfort: I have a large head (7-3/4") so I've had trouble with earphones fitting in the past. I bought these phones to replace some dead Sennhausers that never fit too well anyway. After some internet searching for "big head earphones" I came up with several models, but these had the best buzz in my price range. I was able to adjust the headphones for a good fit. They hardly touch the ears themselves and are comfortable for extended wear. My only complaint is that my ears get hot on warm nights with these phones on. On the other hand, these babies are sure to be cozy when my computer room is freezing this winter. Sound isolation: Not great. In spite of the closed design, you can hear pretty much everything that is going on in the room around you. I chose these phones hoping for better. If I had known this, I night have considered open ear headhones instead (see "hot ears", above). Cord: These phones come with a 12ft cord, which is good, but it isn't coiled, which is bad. There's always a tangle when you put them away. So there you go: If you are looking for a big pair of comfortable, good sounding, warm earphones at a very reasonable price, these might fit the bill. Recommended. |
