Add a tower of power to your living room with the uniquely styled JVC HX-D7 shelf system with twin GIGA-TUBE amplifiers that deliver a total of 520 watts of total power output. One amp powers the left and right subwoofers, while another drives each speaker's dual woofers, mids, and tweeters. JVC's 3D-PHONIC sound, with action, drama and theater settings, creates a virtual surround effect when watching movies. The HX-D7 also provides a 5-disc DVD player changer that's compatible with a wide range of disc and file formats, including DVD-Audio, DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, SVCD/VCD, MP3, and JPEG. The center component measures 11.65 by 17.8 by 15.4 inches, while the four-way, bi-amped bass reflex speakers (with dual 6.3-inch woofers, 2.6-inch midrange, and 0.8-inch tweeter) measure 6.9 by 14.9 by 15.4 inches.

The HX-D7 offers Dolby Digital and DTS decoding as well as a 24-bit/192 MHz audio DAC (digital to analog converter) and 10-bit/54 MHz video DAC. It offers selectable progressive-scan mode for smoother video with HD-compatible TVs (via the component video output). Other features include electronic bass/treble controls, programming for up to 99 tracks, sleep timer, wake-up volume, and a built-in radio tuner with 30 FM and 15 AM station memory. You can also connect virtually any USB-ready computer or audio device through the system's USB port. It provides the following connections:

I recently purchased this JVC shelf system and was quite impressed with the sound, which is as big as the unit itself. Aside from its bulky appearance, the system delivers clean, crisp, rich sound, and when the volume is pumped up, you can feel the vibrations, which are awesome. I hooked up my i-pod to the auxiliary input and this, too,delivered beautiful sound. I also played a dvd audio CD, which sounded fantastic. I have not used the DVD features yet. I am using this primarily for audio purposes, but it is nice to know it can be hooked up to a television monitor to view/listen to dvds. Be aware that the auxiliary jack requires a miniplug cable, with a single plug on each end. A "Y" cable will not work with this unit. The cable is only a few dollars. My only complaint is that parts of the user manual are very poorly written and offer extremely unclear and confusing instructions, such as how to program songs from various discs, which I had to figure out myself. Clear, easy to understand instructions is the very least JVC could do for its customers. Despite this, the unit is well worth the money and you will not be disappointed.

Talk about your boom box, this is the first one ever that really means it. It shakes my house and rocks my yard, full volume and it's clear as a bell. Utterly crappy manual, poorly laid out and very confusing, but who cares, it gives you enough info to figure everything out and away you go. Way kool flashing red front panel lights and LCD display. Way to big and garish, but it sounds the way it looks big, stong, loud and clear. The boom box equivalent of a 1973 Caddy Eldorado, way to big and flashy, but no bull under the hood.

I TOO AM HAVING PROBLEMS RECIEVING BOTH AM AND FM STATIONS

AND I ALSO TRIED VARIOUS ANTENNAS WITH NO LUCK. THIS IS SERIOUS,

AS IT IS A BIG PART OF WHY I BOUGHT THE MACHINE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I CANNOT RECOMEND THIS MACHINE IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED
