It's a great secondary TV with DVD player that I am using in the master bathroom, not hooked up to cable.

I'm not using cable box, just hooking the unit directly to the wall cable outlet and I'm getting about 10 digital HD channels which look great!

Most of them don't run , even if you don't see any scratches it will stop a lot so I have to watch them on a different player...Frustrating!

I bought this JVC for our home gym, the fact that it has a DVD player built-in was a bonus for my wife who wants to play her P90X dvd's. I've had good success in the past with JVC products and so I was hopeful they are just as reliable now. The unit is very light and thin and mounts easily to the wall with the VideoSecu Full Motion Wall Mount we purchased. I'm not using cable box, just hooking the unit directly to the wall cable outlet and I'm getting about 10 digital HD channels which look great! The sound is better than I expected and is adjustable to be either "normal" or "surround" (for us, "normal" sounds best). It's easy to run the autoprogram to locate available channels, and equally easy to go through and delete unwanted channels afterwards. Buy this unit, you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, the DVD Player was constantly skipping and stopping for 5+ minutes at a time as soon as it arrived. When I ran my finger along the "bristles" that covered the DVD entryway, I noticed a thick black dust that came off of it; I'm thinking some of that must have somehow gotten inside onto the reader -- or it was just defective.

In any case, the television was ultra-light, slim, and mounted very easily. The picture isn't the best, but very good/comparable to other 720p TVs (I got used to my 1080p living room t.v. it seems!).

Overall, great T.V. and good for secondary television locations kitchen/bathroom/garage/bedroom, but I wouldn't recommend it as a primary T.V. only because of its size and picture quality.

I wasn't willing to give the T.V. another shot on the off-chance that the DVD reader on the second one was also dirty/broken/whatever -- I'll stick to having a plug-in DVD player since I'm putting it in a location that can allow for that -- but assuming your DVD player functions it's an awesome T.V.

It's actually not easy to find larger TV/DVD combo's anymore. But, this is a great addition to our beach cabin. I plugged it into an outdoor antenna, and we get 32 channels for free- all with one remote! This is a big deal in a cabin where space comes at a premium. I only wish that it had better speakers- but for the price, it's exactly as described!

I'm a big fan of all things JVC; great quality(most of the time, anyway); great customer service (you can get a real human being on the phone who actually speaks and understands the English language) which is usually polite, courteous, patient and helpful (I've never felt rushed on the phone by the serviceman); however, two JVC tvs with DVD (22 inch and 32 inch) get an 'F' grade as neither DVD player ever worked properly, and I mean from the very first time I tried them; either DVD wouldn't go in, or wouldn't come out, or got stuck or had constant 'freezing' during playback, which is absolutely maddening!
I've heard similar complaints on numerous occasions; even the salesman at the retailer said he had many customer complaints about this.
My question is: what in God's name is JVC doing here? You mean to tell me JVC can't figure out, or resolve, this simple problem? Is it the quality of the product? Or the assembly at the factory? Or cheap parts? Or what?
Too bad, really, because it's really turning me off, such that JVC is losing me as a loyal customer and believe me I spend a lot of money on these kinds of products.
If anyone out there has had good experiences with a different brand name, please tell me, as I'm ready to switch my loyalties to a new brand and kiss JVC good-bye!

I would've rated this TV/DVD Combo 5 stars had it not been for the poor sound quality. I use this TV in the kitchen, which isn't very big, and in order to get decent sound the volume needs to be at last 25 or higher. I've been looking for a small soundbar to use with it but that will set me back a few hundred dollars which defeats the "value" purpose of the TV.
