47 inches of pure bliss,

This review is from: JVC LT-47X788 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
This is One of the best LCD tv's you can buy period.
Nice professional sleek black styling, excellent picture quality, Has all features you would want out of a LCD tv. HD content is awesome, SD content is better than most other TV's i demoed or brought home. Has tuners built in (I have analog COX cable and dont use the cable box yet) picks up channels via antenna too. Hooked to PC (nvidia 6800 XT 256 mb) 1920 x 1080 (1:1) mapping, did not have to do any settings (all auto). No Overscanning issues. Used DVI to HDMI cable. Remote is universal and feels industrial quality. If you are deciding between JVC/Sony/Samsung/Sharp/Panasonic I found this was the way to go. Also if you dont have Home theater receiver, the included speakers produce excellent sound. If you do have one, this would output Optical sound for you receiver. No Issue what so ever. Make sure you sit atleast 12-15 ft away from the TV, for perfect viewing. This TV upconverts all signals to 1080p. The stand that comes with it is tilt and swivel.(havent tried yet) Now I need 1080P content, which as you all know is difficult to find.

JVC LT-47X788 47" 1080p LCD HDTV,
This review is from: JVC LT-47X788 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
The transaction was everything it was suppose to be. I bought via Amazon to protect myself against any funny business with the supplier, which there was none, but had there been I was covered even for shipping.
The JVC 47 inch LCD TV really is nice. The only negative is there is no picture on picture which we had before, but only used once in awhile. We get our signal via an indoor antenna, no cable/sat. With the HD TV we get great picture (yes they would be better with cable/sat, but 30-40 bucks a month to watch even more tv is not for us. So far nothing to complain about, great color and lots of options. Willyd1949

Switched from plasma....couldn't be happier,

I tried a top of the line 50" Panasonic plasma out for almost a month, and it just didn't resonate with me. Not sure what it was exactly, but it just didn't make me say "wow" when I watched it. For a person that was upgrading from a non-progressive CRT TV, that is unacceptable.
So, I did even more research, and came upon the 47" JVC. it was priced well, and it had the specs I wanted. I returned the plasma, hooked up my ps3, and my jaw dropped open. I'm a firm believer in LCD now. I have seen absolutely no issues with LCD that I have read about. Not a single blur, absolutely no banding, lag time, or subpar performance. The picture is bright, super crisp, and just amazingly real. to tell you the truth, the picture is so amazing, that I often don't pay enough attention to what I am watching because I get so taken up by how amazing everything looks. I suppose that will wear off though. It should be noted that while the picture quality is amazing, a few things do bother me. They weren't important enough to bring it down a star, but worth mentioning anyway. -I found the tv somewhat slow ot respond to the remote. Everything feels labored in the menus, and many other actions don't happen immediately, but after a short delay. -switching through inputs and analog channels is equally slow. It takes a while to go anywhere, and it can be frustrating. -The menus are archaic looking and clumsy to navigate. I can't understand why the menus on a 1080P television look like they came out of an Atari video game. These issues take a very distant back seat to the importance of picture quality, so they didn't warrant a lowered rating in my opinion. I have never looked back since buying this, and I'm thrilled with my new TV. |
