Great TV,
By A Customer
This review is from: JVC AV-36260 36" TV (Electronics)
I received this TV last week and I wanted to check it out before I wrote a review. This TV is a tremendous bargain. The picture is very clear and the colors are crisp and natural. I have my DVD player hooked to the component video imputs and the picture is fantastic. The picture is definitley better with the component video. There is one small complaint. The specs state that there are 2 rear A/V imputs plus 1 component video imput. Actually the Video #2 A/V imput has only audio imputs - the component imput must be used for the video. Before I ordered this TV I was little concerned about shipping such a large item. It took 2 weeks from the day I ordered the set to when it was delivered. The shipping company was very courteous and they delivered it when they said they would. Not bad. If you are looking to buy a 36 inch TV and do not want to spend the extra for a flat screen, then I recommend this JVC TV. You will not be disappointed. You cannot beat the price when you consider that shipping is free and no sales tax.

Have heard about JVC quality. This TV is true to form. It is much less expensive than an equvalent Sony or Toshiba. All the others do not have all the features. The JVC is half the price of a Sony. It picture tube with the 3 comb filters blows away any type of projection TVs. JVC is a true 36 inch, it measures 36.5 diagonally where others often fib on the true size. The picture is sharp covering the entire glass, corner to corner, edge to edge. Beautiful picture. The JVC has all these features: Comb filters improve picture quality. Less-expensive TVs save you some money by omitting a digital comb filter. This component is important, since it enhances detail and improves overall picture. Try viewing two TVs side-by-side, one with a comb filter and one without, and you'll know why having one is a good idea. If you plan to use the speakers in your TV (rather than hooking up external speakers)make better internal speakers a priority. Be sure to evaluate the set with a variety of sound sources, including music and action films. The JVC In-set speakers are pretty good but will never sound as good as a stand-alone sound system, so it is recommended you use the audio output ports to drive external speakers. If you want to control all your components with one controller, this TV comes with a universal remote. Picture-in-picture allows you to view two video sources at once, with one appearing as an inset in a small window on the screen. If you want to keep an eye on a second program,JVC PIP is essential, this set with two tuners enables you to watch two video sources with no additional hardware. You can get better color and resolution from this JVC TV that has S-Video or component inputs. Inexpensive TVs use composite inputs. S-video or component inputs are identifiable by their white, yellow and red color scheme.

Great TV At A Great Price!,

I own both this and the AV-27260. The only differences I have noticed are the screen size and wattage of speakers. Everything else is the same. Both have an excellent, clear, crisp, sharp picture due to their 3-line digital comb filters and easy adjusters. And both have a clear, crisp, sharp hi-fi stereo sound to match. What helps with the sound on both is their separate bass and treble adjusters and hyper surround. Both have 3 sets of a/v input jacks(2 rear, 1 front), 1 rear audio output jack and 1 S-video input. It has made it easier for connecting a satellite receiver, VCR and DVD player. I do not get all the local channels with satellite. So, connecting a separate antenna to pull them in and be able to use the dual-tuner picture-in-picture helps with both. To rap it up, I use the 27" in the bedroom and the 36" in the living room. Both have too many features to cover all them. It is why I suggest also checking ...for more information. And I highly recommend both. I will mention one other convenient feature. It is both of their universal remotes. They are easy to program. And the owner's manuals for both are clear and inclusive. And at the low prices on this site, I highly recommend checking and buying from this site one of these two. I found both are a lot of TV at reasonable prices. It is based on features and overall quality of both.
