A serious competitor to say the least,

This review is from: JVC RX-DP10VBK THX EX Ultra Audio/Video Receiver (Black) (Electronics)
Powerful and refined. JVC certainly is no stranger to old-school tech advancements and wanted to remind people why JVC was always known for high fidelity with the DP10. This heavy receiver crushes any competitor in a non-hdmi setup in its high-consumer level price range. I would say that this is one of the top three receivers ever made in the pre-hdmi era. The DP10 was purchased as an easy to use unit for my daughter's room. All specs are conservative since the unit received measures 128W RMS from 18hz to 28khz with only 0.0186 THD (at worst) across the 7 channels via scope. Sound quality is much, much better than Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer E, Sony ES, and any other 'wannabe-upper-consumer ended' unit on the market. The RP10 is a great little all-in-one for those not interested in full blown separates for a simple home theater. You will not be disappointed with ease of use when the RP-DP10VBK is used with other JVC compulink components. The remote is not spectacular... but who still uses the factory remote that came with equipment anyway? The remote does, however, get things done. Your daughter can certainly claim she has the finest HT receiver than any of her other friends with a DP10, rest assured.
