The dot-matrix fluorescent display gives you immediate access to everything. Its DSP (digital signal processing) equalizer simulates different environments to make audio a more life-like listening experience. DTS and Dolby Digital EX and Pro Logic II make your DVDs and music even more realistic and surround you in sound.
The digital AM/FM tuner allows for up to 15 AM and 30 FM presets so you can quickly find your favorite stations. And for those times when you can't use your surround speakers or just want a little privacy, there's a headphone jack available on the front panel.

Amazing Value,
This review is from: JVC RXF10S 6.1 Channel Surround Sound A/V Receiver (Electronics)
You can go to AudioCircles.com, which is an audiophile site, and see thousands of comments on the RX-F10. Most agree that this unit, after a long breakin, beats most multi-thousand dollar receivers. As a matter of fact it beats most separates. I use it for an upstairs bedroom system. My downstairs system is a highly customized high end audio system. Soon, I will move it downstairs and compare it to my modified amp and preamp. Summarizing, I don't that that you find a better bargain. In addition, you can spend thousands and it likely not be as good as the RX-F10, which is outstanding, even when driving complicated loads like a Magnepan, Apogee or an electrostatic.

Impressive!,

I heard this at a friend's house, he had them running a pair of Ascend Acoustics CMT-340s and I was VERY impressed especially given the JVC's ridiculously low price point. Sure it's not as warm as some receivers like his Marantz 7400 but the clarity and definition was pretty amazing.
Here's hoping that in a couple of years this digital-direct technology will become more established, right now only JVC and Panasonic seem to have it in the three-digit price range, and they don't include simple standard features like binding posts.
