Most Helpful Customer Reviews

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful By Andreas Løwe on February 26, 2013
The few reviews I've seen about this product complains about it not creating surround audio from a 2 channel (stereo) source, what it actually does it is taking 5.1 optical audio like Dolby Digital or DTS and convert it to 2 channels with surround audio intact giving you 5.1 audio to your favorite stereo headset.

For someone who can't have a proper 5.1 sound system due to thin walls and risking annoying the neighbors late at night, with SU-DH1 I can play movies with good volume on my headset and still get surround audio.

IMPORTANT NOTICE; Get the Victor SU-DH1 as it got 3 volt DC input. JVC SU-DH1 does not have this DC adapter input (quick and easy job for a DIY person).

By Dave In Tampa on October 30, 2013
It is 3:04 a.m. here in Tampa and my sleep appnia has me sitting at my computer, looking up obscure, older audio items. Much to my amazement, I found my old JVC portable sound processor is still available. All I can say is that if you want to really have some fun upgrading your portable CD/mp3/I-Tunes stuff, pick this baby up! It runs on 3 AAA batteries and is nothing short of amazing. I am an audiophile and use it with a $200 portable headphone amp and "cans" by Sony, Sennheiser, Ultrasone, AKG and Klipsch. The best thing about it is that it really helps less expensive rigs sound substantially better. Also, look up the Acoustic Research TDS sound enhancer on Amazon for $40. I bought it just now based on the reviews. It is portable, requires no power and the owners love it. I can't wait to get it.
