I gave 5 stars because of value, quality and performance. First, I was skeptical to pay such a low price ($51 included s/h, originally $240) for 5 speakers - technically it's 5 speaker system, not 5.1. The housings are made of extrude aluminum and not those cheap blown plastic. Any Mac enthusiast should be proud. I placed the speakers right next to my Apple screen and computer and they look like they belong together. Very stylish indeed. I repeat again...a subwoofer doesn't come with this system. You must get powered or passive subwoofer separately. Without it, you will notice the mid-range sound little lacking... but a good subwoofer should remedy this problem. And I gotta tell you, this JVC system gives my high-end speakers run for its money. My only question is why there aren't any reviews pertaining to this product. Then I looked at the the manufacture date on the manual and it says 2003. Albeit these speakers have been discontinued for 5 years but they sure look good in my contemporary office. So can you guess what my recommendation for this product? Emphatically yes, get them while they last!

The speakers were a steal for the price I paid. They are made by the trusted electronics company JVC and are discontinued so that is why I think I got it for less than $100.00. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but it works really well and easy to set up.
