It's easy to appreciate the beauty and simplicity of JVC's powerful new TH-A10 DVD executive home theater system. Brushed aluminum cabinets, a futuristic design, and uncluttered single-wire connections whisper elegance. But with 200 watts flowing through its six-channel amplifier, built-in DVD-Video/VCD/CD/FM/AM capability, and Dolby Digital/DTS decoders, the TH-A10 also thunders power and versatility.

The TH-A10 provides the functions of a roomful of separate components--without tangles of wires and confusing setup and operation. An all-in-one center unit combines a DVD-Video/VCD/CD player and an FM/AM tuner, along with a full slate of inputs and outputs. The robust 200-watt amplifier is built into the powered subwoofer and connects to the center unit with just one cable. Five full-range satellite speakers meter theater-quality sound accurately throughout the listening field.

Ease is a key word when describing the TH-A10. Ease of installation is ensured by single-wire connections and color-coded speaker cables. For easy operation, the TH-A10 provides auto power-on and auto speaker settings. The system even comes with two remote controls: a full-function multibrand and a simple type, so you can use the one that best serves your needs.

The TH-A10 center unit provides a 10-bit/27 MHz video digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and a 24-bit/96 kHz audio DAC. A Digital Acoustics Processor (DAP) provides independent audio channel control and multiple DAP modes, including dance club, live club, hall, and pavilion settings. Controlling and monitoring system operation is easy with both onscreen (TV) display and the unit's front-panel fluorescent display. The built-in DVD player offers resume, digest, and strobe functions.

When it comes to connectivity, the center unit is ready for just about anything you plug into it. Analog audio inputs include VCR, TV/DBS, tape/MD, and auxiliary, while digital-audio inputs include DBS, MD, and auxiliary. Analog audio outputs cover VCR and tape/MD, and there is a digital audio output. Composite and S-VHS video inputs for VCR and DBS and composite and S-VHS video outputs for VCR and monitor complete the TH-A10 picture.

The system also has AV COMPU LINK and Enhance COMPU LINK, which allow various JVC components to work together as one system.

The TH-A10's powered subwoofer, with signal-sensing auto-on, is a marvel of design efficiency. The lustrous brushed-aluminum cabinet houses all six amplifiers, pushing 200 watts to the six speakers. Bass power doesn't have to travel far to the extra-large cone speaker contained in the same cabinet. The center unit and all other speakers are connected via single wires and one-touch mini-jack speaker terminals. The setup allows the most visible component of the system--the center unit--to remain remarkably free of cable clutter.

The five compact aluminum-enclosed satellite speakers include one center channel and four front/rear channels. The brushed-aluminum enclosures complement the system's elegant looks and help the full-range cones provide accurate sound reproduction. Enclosed wall-mounting brackets complete the package.
