Realize that I am not interested in "home theater" in that I am not trying to recreate some grand cinematic experience - I just want to watch TV with adequate sound and I feel like the TV makers don't even try anymore, assuming that everyone will buy additional hardware because they put such crappy speakers on TVs. I might have been happy with a cheaper soundbar, but my TV had only one sound output - an SPDIF RCA output. (That is, digital sound, but not the optical version). This is the first soundbar under $300 I found that would do that. I could have used the cheaper BC-1 but I liked the idea of the iPod connection since sometimes I use my iPod like a boombox - and this would be portable enough for that use.

The system works great on my cheap HDTV - the sound will not win any awards but it is far better than the cheap tinny speakers on the TV. I do not think paying $300 more for a TV would have gotten as good a sound. I like the variety of methods of getting sound into the system - this means it should be useful if I move on to another TV.

For the iPod - this is a great semi-portable speaker system. It needs to be plugged in, but it also supplies an impressive volume that can fill up a large room like a hotel meeting room. And the remote control operates the iPod (I use a first generation iPod touch).

First time reviewing something but I thought this deserved one since there isn't much on the net for this product.I am recommending this soundbar for those that live in apartments or have sensitive neighbors. The sound is nice and clear it will not over power you with bass but does have some thump to it. The feature I like the most is the Ipod dock that is hidden in the middle of the bar,it works great with my Itouch. On the back It has all the sound inputs you will need for new TVs with Hdmi inputs or for those that still use older analog inputs it also has a digital optical in. The soundbar has a 3D surround sound feature that does work well for movies or sports. Also it is very easy to hook up compared to a surround sound system I had with wires all over my living room.Again I emphasize that I am recommending this for people that live in apartments or for those that don't want to be overpowered by more expensive systems.

Wanted my living room less cluttered so got rid of stereo equip (moved to man cave) and surround speakers. I have just the cable box and the Blu ray connected with HDMI to one cable to new 60 inch Plasma. Got a logitech remote and bingo, everything is streamlined. Sound is good for TV. Haven't watched a movie yet since I am still burning in the Plasma and I don't want the black letterbox burn in. It could use a little more Bass, but you can get an external subwoofer. Hard to find a very small subwoofer. I don't want more clutter. The surround sound is good. Does fill a room. So far so good.

I bought this unit as a refurbished item... And it was in brand new shape.. Even the plastics inside looked new..
I tell you this is one great unit.. It really give my TV a bigger sound and I love it .. and as for the Ipod Doc.. I love it..
I took an old iphone and loaded it up with my music library and it sounds awesome... I now turn on the music and get my
projects going..... Great unit ..

Purchased at FRY's for $150. The sound is decent, but not great. It works fine for my needs. I just wanted to improve the sound of my Sony Bravia flat screen, which has speakers that point down (and can be difficult to hear) and this soundbar does the trick. The additional features (FM radio and IPOD dock) make for a nice addition to the bedroom.

Never written a review...but this product made me chagrinned. Bought it for a new TV, excited to be able to replace home stereo system since it had an iPod dock; the dock worked twice and now we get a "noncompatible" message on our iPod Nanos...iPod Shuffle won't play...iPod touch won't play...iPhone 4 won't play! (yeah...we went Apple) so...if the main *zazz* feature doesn't work...poor product. AND it appears that JVC quit making them and THIS is the only customer review ont he web! don't buy one. we're returning it today.

The first one had a broken display. Amazon replaced it right away.
This is one of the most feature full sound bars on the market that wont break the bank.
love the sub output and the iphone dock.
would have loved to have a DTS decoder built in but since many of the movies dont have it anyway not a big deal.
well worth it, replaced a full receiver and 5 speakers and sounds just as good.

After much shopping I decided to purchase this soundbar because it had all of the features I was looking for. It was a great price and the sound it produces is light years ahead of the speakers in my Toshiba flat screen. I have the bar mounted to the bottom of my wall mounted tv so when i turn the tv, the sound goes with it and it works and sounds great!

I've had the sound bar for about two weeks now, and so far I have been very pleased with it! Although I am happy with the performance of the product, I do wish it had more than 2 HDMI inputs. Thats just me being picky, only because I have 2 gaming systems along with the cable box that I would like to plug into the sound bar. The ipod dock is handy, but sometimes it takes a while to read my ipod. Overall, its a wonderful product for the price you pay.
