Our aim from the start was to set up a HD TV and home theater on a tight budget. The main features we were looking for in the home theater was HDMI output, HD upscaling, and over 1000-watt surround sound. Oh, and then be as affordable as possible. This was all that.
It looks sharp. Not too fancy - the speakers mounted on the walls don't draw undue attention. It all looks nice - of course, I'm not an audiophile. It does all it is supposed to do, and at the price, I'm very happy with it!
What I've been disappointed with: First, the interface, setup menus and such. Very basic, difficult to use/navigate. Also, no auto-setup for the speakers. You'll have to sit, listen, adjust, and set it on your own. It didn't take me too long before I got it sounding good. And lastly, the remote isn't compatible with our universal remote, so we have to play the game of juggling remotes. Worst is when we are switching from DVD to Cable.
Oh, the only digital audio input it has is optical. I'd have rathered the orange RCA jack, but hey, it works. The iPOD docking station annoys me, becuase I don't buy Apple's hype. Still, props to them for getting proprietary support. It would be nice to have a USB hookup for any MP3 player.
