I have used this lamp for almost 2 years now and so far it is working like brand new. I'm impressed with it's longevity. I'm not certain of the hours of use but I watch TV often. Great replacement product.

This was a great buy for me. The last one I got was shortly after purchasing the TV originally and it cost me $369. Got this one for $121 and it was exactly the same thing. Easily installed by myself and my wife calls me Tim the Tool Man's brother. So go for it and rest easy that you'll get the same performance and product that you would from JVC but for half the price.

I purchased this item on 10/22/2010 for my JVC 52" tv after the original bulb blew after 5yrs of owing the tv. Unfortunately, the bulb I purchased a short 3.5 months ago has blown again so I am not happy with the fact that I have to purchase another bulb. They are not cheap!http[..]

Just replaced the original lamp with this one manufactured by Philips ten minutes ago... Our JVC 52 inch DLP television seems good as new! As tempting as it was to replace the television (since the price of HD televisions has come down so far since we first purchased this t.v.), the gap between the price of the lamp and a new television made the replacing the bulb idea seem more sensible. I was skeptical of replacing the bulb (throwing good money after bad), but it seems to have worked.

After my bulb went out I bought a new LCD TV and couldn't get over how dull the picture was. I longed for my JVC 61" back. I got on Amazon and found this lamp. The installment was very easy. It came in and all I did was take the old one out and put the new one in. One thumb screw held the cover on in the lower left hand corner of the JVC and two screws held in the lamp. Wow what a difference. I love the brightness of this lamp and have been using it for the past couple of months. Works great and it looked and fit just like the one that came out. The only regret I have was thinking the new LCD TV was going to be an upgrade to my old JVC.

We purchased this bulb when the OEM bulb failed after having provided 2+ years of usage. The new bulb worked fine - we had no issues with picture quality, etc. However, after 3.5 months, the bulb failed. We have requested that the vendor replace it since it was obviously a defective product.

UPDATE: The customer service from Prolitex is nothing short of amazing. We sent an email reporting the bulb failure and they responded with a FedEx shipping label to return the defective bulb and then sent a replacement bulb, via DHL, within several days. Given the opportunity, we will buy from this company again.

This is NOT a manufacturer "original" part, it is an aftermarket replacement. With that said.. I've had the lamp for 2 months now and is of good quality producing crisp, bright color. It comes mounted in a chassis so installation couldn't be easier. If it lasts as long as it has for the other reviewers then it's well worth the money.

Greaat bulb. Don't let the instructions scare you. Very easy to install. No need to call someone. You can do it like I did.

I purchased a replacement lamp for my JVC DLP. The lamp quality is not very good and the resulting picture quality is disappointing. I tried the lamp of another DLP of the same model and the results were the same. Have to be careful who the manufaturer is.

It was very easy to replace the lamp ourselves and a whole lot cheaper that having a store do it. The price of the lamp is a little high but we would like to see an LED lamp so that it would last longer.
