I've had this unit for few weeks now, and so far it has done everything as advertised. It played PAL region 2 DVDs from Europe out of the box along with the US DVDs. I didn't have to make any adjustments to settings to play these on my US TV. DVDs are upscaled to 1080p and look much better than my standard DVD player with the HDMI cable (cable was included in the box). It also has optical audio output so my home theater system connects very easily for great Audio. I would definitely recommend this player for its great price and quality!

Just received DVD player via UPS. Took just a few minutes to set up player. Plays the region 2 DVD disc perfectly. No skipping or jumpy picture present. I have already watched several of my DVD's from U.K. and love it.

Lightning fast shipping and item came well packed, undamaged and as described. Tested the region free component with a foreign DVD and worked fine. Nothing to complain about. Hope the played proves to be reliable....don't use it very often.

Having family and traveling occasionally overseas, I end up with DVDs from different zones. The players I had before always had certain DVDs they just wouldn't play. I fed these "trouble DVDs" to the JVC, and it read everyone of them with no issues. Very easy to navigate DVD programs with the remote, very good quality picture. This product absolutely does the job, and is also a great value so i give it 5 stars.

Very slim profile. Quiet. Perfect picture output. Plays my Region 0, USA (1), and 2 DVD's fine, PAL or NTSC. Just put the disk in and it automatically recognizes it - no adjustments needed. Now you can order any DVD on Amazon to enjoy. Great for seeing UK movies that were never released in the US on disc (and there are quite a few good ones!).

Compact, easy setup and use of remote, very satisfied with this product. I always purchase JVC products for their reliability and performance.

We ordered this DVD player shortly after we got our new LCD TV. We didn't want to get Blu-ray so we decided on an upconverting dvd player. It works very well and we haven't had any problems with it. It makes the movies look that much better especially when viewing them on a 47" screen. Great value.

Product received in perfect condition well packed. Setup was simple and product performed as expected. One disadvantage is the very weak bluish display light which was meant to show that the machine was on. It took us two weeks and a very dark room to notice the presence of the light and in the meantime we were not happy with JVC for selling what we thought was a machine with no visual way of knowing when it was on or off. We are otherwise very pleased with its performance.

This brand new DVD player came and my husband and I were too busy to take it out of the box and try it out. So it just sat there for a month. Finally, my husband tried it out and it wouldn't work on regular DVDs. It was blockbuster DVDs! Once I load it into the player, a loud humming noise just continuously goes on and on until I press eject!!! Nothing on the screen and an error msg came up. Well, we've tried several types of DVDs, VCDs, and other sorts and nothing. So our 30 day return policy has expired and we are stuck with this piece of junk sitting in my living room collecting dust.

Beware!! If you do decide on purchasing this device, please make sure you try it out once it gets to your doorstep!!! Do not wait and try it out with several dvds to make sure it works with all.
