Be sure you know what you are buying.
In order that no others make the same mistake be sure that you have an IEEE-1394/Firewire port on your computer. This is NOT a USB cable, nor are the cameras that they are designed for. The good news is that adapter boards are readily available for your computer and/or laptop that will allow you to utilize this device. Have both the 4/4 and 4/6...

Doesn't Quite Do The Trick
I ordered this DV Cable in hopes that I would be able to use it to transfer my videos from the DV Camera to my computer, however, my computer does not have a DV plug-in. I have not been able to use the cable since I bought it and I am truly disappointed.

In order that no others make the same mistake be sure that you have an IEEE-1394/Firewire port on your computer. This is NOT a USB cable, nor are the cameras that they are designed for.The good news is that adapter boards are readily available for your computer and/or laptop that will allow you to utilize this device. Have both the 4/4 and 4/6 varieties of this product and they function flawlessly. The large ferrite beads at both ends help keep the signal clean.
