Cable is working perfectly. What a joy to be able to transfer video to my computer. I bought tis cable used, but it showes no sign of wear at all. I did however expect it to be a JVC brand with a core filter. Maybe thats what all the braided sheilding is for. Regardless, I havn't gotten any interfearence so I'm happy.

Unfortunately I have yet to test to see if this product actually works though the outside packaging seemed like the legit real deal [i.e. sony's and not a knockoff]. Unfortunately the latest version of apple doesn't support my camcorder and my personal laptop does not have an ieee firewire port. therefore i will not be able to test/use the product for a while

I received a used JVC mini-dv camera. The cable that came with it was four pin on the computer side. Since my computer only has six pin firewire and I do not like adapters, I purchased this cable.

The cable did exactly what it was suppose to do, allowing me to transfer content from the mini dv tapes to my computer and even allows me to control the camera from within Linux (via kino). I am extremely satisfied with the product.
