JVC DVD-RW 4X discs are CPRM compatible, meaning that you can record "once" a hollywood movie that will not record at all on DVD-R discs(video mode) since they started blocking that early last year. The disc itself is encoded to prevent you from making additional copies which conforms to the CPRM "once" code that hollywood is using on the premium movie channels. Very reliable,unfinalize your disc and re-use it for up to 1,000 times! You need to use a super-multi recorder in VR mode.

Jvc Vdw47Du5 Dvd-Rw 5-Pk (2X). I have a JVC DVD video recorder (DR-MV99BU) that will dub VHS tapes to DVDs (providing no copy protection is involved). I had tried many of the media listed in the users' manual and they would work sporadically. I never knew when they would "finalize". Most often they would not and I have a lot of "coasters." I got the JVC DVD-RW, 4.7GB, discs and all went perfectly. Not a single "non-finalization." GREAT!!

I've been using these disks for recording for months now. They work great. I've never had an issue with them. Also, the cover folds back to write titles on both sides, which is really nice. I've never seen another DVD for recording with that kind of cover.

I bought this brand in a last-ditch attempt to use my JVC model DRMV100B DVR/VCR as a DVD recorder. All other brands were fine with the recorder in dubbing mode, none were able to complete a timer program from the TV no matter what I did. These are recommended by JVC for their unit so I decided I had nothing to lose - it wasn't working anyway. To date, after almost 3 weeks, not one program has failed to record perfectly on the machine. I have erased/initialized one DVD at least 3 times & it has continued to work well. If I have to buy slightly more expensive media to make a $250 product work properly, so be it. It's better than the alternative - failure & frustration! I also like the packaging - very sturdy & much better than a spindle. Not saying this will cure your machine woes but it seems to be a good product & you can always use it in your computer, too.

I bought these as they were recommended by the model dvd I have. No problems- good quality recording. I only use them to record and re-record tv programs. Also, they are compatitable with my other Sony DVD player. Hard to find, so get 'em while you can.

When it comes down to DVD Recording, there are so many different discs that can be used for recording. While JVC have made the strides with DVD recorders the past few years, they also have surprised those who've made DVD discs too. This 5-pack of DVD-RW discs surprisingly work well on all kinds of DVD recorders, on both computers and awkwardly on home DVD recorders, like the ones from Zenith and Sylvania. My only gripe that I actually have with the discs is that they actually do not say on the box that are recordable on home DVD video recorders. I was a bit concerned when I bought the discs. But, nevertheless, you can't count JVC out. I just honestly wish that more places carried these DVD-RW 4X discs. It is a good buy that competes well with Sony, TDK and many others nicely. I just wish though they were a little less-expensive.

I own both the JVC DR-MV99BU and DR-MV77s DVD/VHS recorders and these DVD's are the only ones that have worked well with the machines. Tried other brands of rewritable DVD's for recording TV shows/dubbing VHS tapes, but they were very unreliable in getting the job done. Bought these because they were listed in the owner's manual as recommended for use with the DVD recorder models I own and am quite pleased with the results. Have had no problems with these rewritable DVDs. Highly recommend them.

Recently have found that the product is out of stock and no one knows why or if or when there will be more of this product available to purchase in the future. Amazon states that if you order the product it will take 1 to 2 months to ship.

Brought this to have a few DVD-RWs for general purpose use and so I can record some series off. These are great and work well with my system. Just what I neeeded!

I bought these because my vcr quit dubbing from dvd's. The company told me to buy CPRM dvd so I did these worked great and I was able to finish dubbing our recorded vcr tapes to dvd. Thanks!
