JVC's XL-SV22BK is something like the ultimate karaoke player, offering compatibility with specialty formats and technologies that standard DVD players would readily eschew.

Video features
NTSC/PAL compatibility means you can sing along to discs from all over the world. The player offers VCD version 2.0 playback control, video intro scan, multipicture onscreen display, slow search (via remote), and bookmark with onscreen book digest.

JVC has done an interesting thing here in making this player compatible with CD graphics (CD+G), which some karaoke discs use and many standard CDs released in the late 1980s also used--only back then, there was no way to see them! (Chris Isaak's 1985 debut, Silvertone, is an example of a pop disc bearing CD+G content.)

Audio features
Karaoke-specific effects like vocal masking and vocal replace, digital echo (with level control), and three surround modes (Dance Club/Hall/Stadium) make you sound like the professional you wish you were.

Connections
The player includes two microphone jacks, so you and your friends can tackle all those great duets you used to have to go to a bar to sing.

Other features
The DVG-9000N is karaoke-ready with a front-panel .25-inch microphone input--just plug in and sing along with your favorite CDs or dedicated karaoke CDs and DVDs. The unit is compatible with DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD, and MP3-CD-R/CD-RW.

Other features include Cinema Shuttle, nine-step programming, one-track/all-track repeat, 10-key direct track access, and a remote control.

This is a really nice machine and the selection of discs that came with it IN the package (in its own little holder) is a great assortment of all kinds of music. I had been looking for quite some time, and this was by far the best value I found. One thing some people may not understand however is that this is a component and you need to have an amp, or TV with AV inputs. The little machines with internal amps dont even compare with this one.

I never thought that it could be so much fun and to have 18 free Karaoke CD's included is such a wonderful way to start off our collection! Our first party was a success and everyone had loads of fun, even though some of us sound like a bunch of fish drowning!! I think that any one who purchases this Karaoke player will not regret it - Have fun!

This is my first Karaoke player and it seems to be very good my brother purchased one just like it and had good success with his too. I recommend this to any one that wants to get started with a good player.
