Very poor product.,

Extremely sensitive to scratched or damaged CD's. About one third of my CD's which play fine in other players are unacceptable to the JVC changer. Playing in random is always exciting; "Which CD's will actually play this time?" The remote is also poorly laid out with miniscule buttons. Overall I'd say this is the worst piece of audio equipment I have ever owned

I have over 600 cds, because I hate radio.(boring) multiple cd machine with RANDOM PLAY is what I want. I bought a JVC-MC222BK. Plays great.RANDOM PLAY works good.Goes from cd to cd & song to song. The problem? When you program in select cds. RANDOM PLAY will only play the whole cd,not song search. I put it back in the box.(where it is now) I got a PIONEER PD-F1007 300 machine. works much better! Plus you can plug two of them together,to equal 600! The JVC XL-MC222BK is a good player. Amazon.com has a great price. But it does have set limits hard core music fans will not deal with.

A good basic changer.,

This changer has an excellent sound quality for it's price range. It reproduces hall ambience and depth well, but is critical of poorly recorded material. Although it lacks digital outputs, the integrated DAC performs well. It tracks all dropout tracks on my test CD up to 2 consecutive of 2000 micrometers each. I prefer the CD jacket album that JVC provides to other brands' front panel title displays. Most displays are difficult to read from the listening position. I purchased a second album so that I can place both the front AND REAR covers above one another on one page (100 covers per album). That way I can read titles of individual tracks without having to remove the covers from the protective pages of the albums. I also saved the price of a CD storage tower. Downsides: Difficult to fit player in entertainment unit due to height and depth. Occasionally rejects lending-library CDs which have security strips glued to label surface (unbalanced disc). Rotating these discs 180 degrees when loading sometimes permits play.

DOA,

My unit failed to work when I removed it from the box. I decided to take it to the factory repair facility because that would be less expensive than return postage and the time involved. It was repaired in about a week (door adjust I'm told.) It now seems to work fine. I have had no other problems with it.

I received my CD changer as a gift for my birthday, and every since I have received it, it hasn't worked properly, I put up with it because it was a gift, but now I have 200 of my favorite CD's suck in it. I would not advise anyone to purchase this CD changer.

The JVC 200 cd changer is my favorite changer I've had yet. I have had several other cd changers from name brand manufactures and had to return them because of defects. Not so with the JVC. I like the ease of use of the remote control, and the text window is very easy to read, with large, detailed graphics. I would reccomend it to anyone.

The first unit I purchased did not work. Apparently the laser was out of alignment. I exchanged the unit. The new unit works great. The convenience of the JVC CD catalog provided with the unit is helpful. A little noisy from disk to disk, using the random function.

Very Heartbroken!,

I received this CD changer as a birthday gift from my husband. It skipped so badly on the first 5 CD's I tried to play, I had to send it back. I thought it must have just been a faulty machine & the next one was bound to work better. The replacement unit worked okay initially, but would not play burned cd's or cd's that had even the tiniest scratches. (My OLD discman (from the 80's) played the CD's that this brand new JVC unit would not play!). Now, a few months later, there are only a few of my CD's that this piece of #!@&* will play. I am utterly disappointed & upset that I spent so much time cataloging 200 CD's into a player that doesn't work. I wish I had my old single CD-player back (We sold it at our garage sale right after I received the first JVC changer). Bummer!
