Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

JVC's XM-448BK component minidisc deck is a full-featured player/recorder at a bargain price. Unlike most minidisc recorders, this JVC model offers a full-function keyboard in its remote control for convenient title-input capability. Other minidisc conveniences include five-mode editing functionality (with track-move and -erase capabilities), sampling-rate conversion to permit digital recording from 48 kHz digital-audio tapes or non-copy-protected DVDs, 32-track programming, and random and repeat playback.

The XM-448BK offers two Toslink optical digital inputs, the ability to input track titles during either recording or playback, a jog dial, JVC's Text Compu Link for communication with other JVC devices, and a headphone jack with its own volume control.

JVC is known for its attention to both real-world budgets and audio quality, and the XM-448BK is accordingly equipped with high-quality one-bit digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great MD player for the price!, June 10, 2000
This review is from: JVC XM-448BK Minidisc Component Recorder (Electronics)
I am impressed by the quality of this MD system. Recording is a breeze, from both a digital and an analog input. The compulink features makes synchronous recording easy (if you have another JVS component). The qwerty keyboard type remote makes titling really easy.

This unit has all the features that any standard minidisc recorder would have (join, move, erase one track, erase all...etc). Although the analog RCA output is slightly weak, its positive features makes up for it. It looks stylish, and blends well with other units. The display has a bright / dim and an off mode.

Highly recommended for someone just starting into the MD world.

I have 2 portable minidisc players, and this worked very nicely to convert CD-R disks to minidiscs.

The remote has a fairly large size keypad, which makes quick work out of titling new minidiscs, vs using a small palmsize recorder.
