I am really not a JVC fan, and this was my first JVC product. It is a medium market level product, without most of the cutting edge technology. It is marketed as a DVD player without too many frills and it delivers just that. Plays almost any DVD rewritable format (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW) and SVCD, VCD, CD and MP3 CD. I had a problem with an Imation DVD+R, it plays on my older sony dvd but refuses to be read on the JVC. User interface is clean and intuitive, with minimal setup. New disc read speed is very quick, and so is the resume; From power off to resume play is less that 3 seconds, which is impressive. Overall, excellent product at a excellent price for a non - prgressive scan machine. 2115|R2QSWWVSDPD2S6;
