2.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised
The conductive copper foil tape I ordered was not copper in color and it was not conductive. On the bright side, it was delivered quickly.

My project used 1" x 40" strips of conductive, carbon-impregnated, vinyl material for pressure sensors. I found the resistance of these strips to be inconsistent. Also, the resistance was much higher than I needed.
I ordered this tape with the hope that I could stick it on top of the strips and solve both my problems. I decided to try it because the tape claimed to have a conductive adhesive. I hoped that by simply taping the top side of a conductive vinyl strip, the copper would reduce the strips overall resistance and, hopefully, make the resistance consistent across the 100 strips used in my project. It would only work if the adhesive was conductive. It was! And it was very easy to apply.

5.0 out of 5 stars slug barrier, June 17, 2010

I used this to line the outside of my container garden. It works great for keeping out slugs and snails, and much cheaper than buying the short strips marketed for that purpose. (make sure to wear gloves...the edges are sharp)

This is good to help protect your plants from snails and slugs.

But ware gloves when you put it out as it will cut your skin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Well, August 22, 2009

This review is from: JVCC CFL-5CA Copper Foil Tape (Conductive Adhesive): 1/4 in. x 36 yds. (Copper) (Misc.)
I purchased this tape as an alternative to soldering together solar cells without tabs. I used it both as tabbing wire by cutting the tape into 1/32" strips and as the current bus connecting strings of cells together. The tape is particularly strong, even at 1/32nd inches and conducts well. Resistance is nominal. I just put my first panel in the sun and I get full voltage. Thus far the adhesion is withstanding the heat from direct sunlight well. It also plays well with other non-adhesive metallic tapes. I was running out of this tape, so the connected it with aluminum tape. Again, it conducts well with less practically no resistance when stringing together aluminum tape with this tape. Although I have some reservations regarding longevity of the adhesive, the technical specs look adequate for long-term use. Overall, I would recommend this product for those looking at stringing together solar cells who do not want to solder.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's copper, it's tape, and it works., May 12, 2009

Well what can I say, it's copper tape. One side has excellent adhesion properties... And, on the other side copper... Great for arts and crafts, electronics, and hobbies. excellent for repairing broken traces on circuit boards.

This stuff is pretty cool. The adhesive is mediocre. Better than post-it, but not as good as Scotch tape. However, the adhesive is conductive. I was able to strap several AA batteries in series with this and resistance was very minimal. After assembling, I wrapped the entire assembly once in packing tape, and again over the terminals to protect the foil tape. Works like a champ.

I purchased this copper foil tape to use for altered art projects-- namely soldered jewelry. I was very pleased with the results after using it for the first time. It adheres to glass like a dream, and seems to handle the flux & solder just fine.

The version I normally buy from a craft site is $5 for 3 yards. Obviously at about $13 for 36 yards, this is a MUCH better value. The huge roll size is a little tricky to work with for arts & crafts applications, but I'll probably end up transferring it to smaller empty rolls for convenience.

All in all, this product works just as well (if not better) than the more expensive name brand copper tape marketed toward hobbyists on jewelry supply & craft sites. I'm pretty sure I'll end up buying some other sizes from this seller as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Snails are gone, July 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had a lot of problems with snails on my citrus trees. One of my smaller tangerine trees had so many snails on it that it had become sick and not healthy looking any more. I put the copper strip on it and picked as many snails as I could and so far I don't see any more snails on it after a week. My other citrus trees are the same. No more snails on them. This is a great product. It has sharp edges, wear gloves when working with it.

Slugs here in the Pacific North West are a real problem. As soon as I get my starts in the ground the little slimmy suckers are all over. I've had entire basil, lettuce, and kale starts nearly gone 24 hours later.

I didn't want to use poisons, and going out every night to pick the slugs out by hand got old pretty quick.

This stuff isn't cheap, but it does seem to work. I lined the top portion of my raised boxes in the afternoon, and then went out after dark to see the results. I watched a couple slugs over the course of 20 minutes make several attempts to cross the 2" barrier, and never got their heads past the first 1/4" of tape.

Installation is a bit tricky if you want to make this look nice. The tape is easy to crinkle and you only get one shot with it. The tape is easy to remove if you make mistakes. It does add a nice visual effect to whatever you tape this onto.

Exactly what I needed. Foil tape that I could soldier to. Flexible. Sticky on one side. I was able to leave the plastic tape on one side (where I didn't soldier) as insulation.
