This glittery ball does stand out on the bird toy display rack, the lights dancing on its many facets. Disco Ball is about six inches high from top loop to bell bottom. A wavy, loopy plastic holder threads the middle of the ball and serves as a hanger and support for ball and bell. About an inch below the sparkling ball a small bell is suspended for additional avian interest and exercise. The top loop opens up for fastening onto cage wire, perch or branch.
Yes, Mrs. Spudman finds suitable twigs in the backyard, trims them to size, and installs them in the cage for the birds who like to chew on them, climb on them, and perch on them. When the branches get bare or dirty, she puts new ones in. I especially like the non-cost of these branch embellishments.

So How'd This Go?
The Disco Ball in the Cage The Disco Ball hangs now in the middle of the birdcage from a high branch. At first I was disappointed by the reaction of Jazz and Spud to the disco ball. They seemed to have more interest in the mirror and jungle gym toy that have been in there for months. I'm finding out that this disinterest is only an illusion a parakeet ploy to aggravate me.
When I'm in another room, and they think nobody's watching, I catch one or other of the birds grabbing the yellow holder, pulling it, and letting go. This makes the bell tinkle and the ball sparkle. When one bird tires of the game, the other one takes a turn playing with the disco ball. These two parakeets can get so animated in play that sometimes I think they'll "join Travolta" and start moving to a disco beat, one wing reaching high into the air.

Occasionally I'll catch Spud or Jazz just standing in front of the disco ball, looking intently or even chirping tweet nothings to the reflections in the ball.

Finally -
Though the birds aren't overly excited with their new disco ball yet, it's fun watching them play with this new diversion. Therefore, because of the fun factor, the inexpensive price, and the great throwback looks, I do recommend the Disco Ball for birds.

My parrot (a Kakariki) adores her disco ball, she plays with it often and rings its bell with her foot. She regards it as a good friend!
