The birdies seem to like this.

They are held together with little plastic alligator connectors, they compress and re open to form a link between the balls.

If it stayed together better I would give it five stars.

Excellent toy. I bought it at a very good, reasonable price . The plastic/parts are hard and sturdy as with all toys that I've bought from JW Pet Company/Activitoys. My parakeets are having a good time with this. I know birds don't weigh much but today my male actually was hanging onto and swinging from the bottom ball by holding on with both of his feet so it works well with their "rough" play. Both (the other is female) seem to like how they can easily hold onto this toy interchangeably with their beak and feet.

The colors are nice and vibrant which brighten up the look of the cage and give it a more "playful" feel. I like how there isn't a lot of metal (rust is a possibility) and the toy is easy to clean/have "water play" with (I like wetting some of their hanging toys since it gets their attention and they'll quiet down and spend time getting every last drop off; this also helps me with getting my male cleaner since he refuses to take a proper bath).

It is very useful to put treats (spray millet) in and my two parakeets like to play with it. They also like the bell at the bottom. Looked bigger than I thought, but I didn't really read the dimensions, so that'll be my fault. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone! :)

I'm babysitting my friend's Cockatiel Jack and she likes this toy. She's not used to toys so she was scared to death of it but now she's calm. Hopefully she'll play with it soon. I have noticed it keeps moving from one side of her big cage to the other so she's definitely doing something with it when I'm not looking! LOL

I agree this toy isn't perfect, but it's a great for a small bird. For example, this short video shows how my budgies typically interact with it.

To be clear, this is not the only toy they enjoy. They also spend quite a bit of play time with any toy that has a Kabob on it. However, they like the lattice chain so much that I've purchased a few (they're cheap). I keep one in the cage, a two attached to perches outside their cage, and one attached to their play stand.

My thoughts on pros and cons:

Pros

1. The bird loves it.
2. It's colorful.
3. It's easy to re-arrange the lattice balls.
4. It's easy to clean.
5. The bell can be replaced (see Cons).

Cons

1. Not all bells work.

You'll sometimes get a toy where the bell doesn't ring. Instead of returning the toy, you can replace the bell if you want. For example, some toys, such as Mac's Spinner Natural Bird Toy, have great bells and can easily be disassembled. You can use one of those bells to replace the one on this toy. Or, you can simply buy a bag of 3-5 bells such as Paradise Cow Bells. The problem is that a bag of bells will likely cost more than this toy. Go figure.

2. It's pprobably not for birds bigger than a budgie.

I was surprised to see the product packaging has a cockatiel on it.

I stuffed these little balls with shredded paper while my parakeet looked on with interest. As soon as I hung it in a strategic spot in his cage, the fun began. He promptly pulled the paper out and in his zest pulled the lower ball off as well. He got excited and taught it quite a few lessons (also known as thrashings) in a very short time. If it stayed together better I would give it five stars. I think my birdie would agree.

My cockatiels play with this a lot, so it is a good thing. The problem I have with it though, is when they play with it too much they will pull the balls off each other. So I have to push them back together. It has a plastic insert that goes into each ball which holds it together. I have to put them together almost everyday.

I bought this toy for my cockatiel. It was great until he learned that he could detach the balls from each other (about five minutes after I gave it to him). This toy is meant to come apart and snap back together again. This was a bad thing, because my bird loved to detach the balls and fling them all over the room. For him, the entertainment was watching me pick up his toys. Other than that, the toy is okay, and the plastic is sturdy and seems durable. It's also very easy to reattach the pieces if they get disconnected.

I don't recommend this toy at all if your bird is mischievous or likes to destroy. I feel bad giving this product so few stars, as my bird enjoys it, but if you have a mischievous bird and you value your sanity, it's probably best to go with a different product.
