As with other JW products, the item is ergonomic and easy to install, but is primarily focused on the animal. I was surprised how much more our older male, Bob, prefers this product over the single-pane mirror we had and is still available in his cage. After many months, he still prefers the three-panel mirror. I recommend it highly if you're introducing a mirror for the first time, or replacing an old one.

My parakeet has always loved running around in front of my full length mirror so I figured I'd get him his own for his cage. I put this in his cage and he was only scared of it for about 10 seconds before realizing what it was. As soon as he discovered it he was basically glued to it. I left it in his cage for about a week, but realized that ever since it had been in there he was biting me more every time I tried to handle him and being a lot less affectionate towards me since his "new friend" came. I've taken it out of the cage and only plan on putting it back in if I go out of town or are away for any reason. He does love it though so the four stars are for him not me.

This mirror is good for small birds, up to small to medium size parrots like Conures. I find that most mirrors made for budgies are too delicate for conures, and could easily be destroyed by a slightly larger parrot. NOT THIS ONE! The only caveat to purchasing a mirror for your bird, however, is that he/she will fall in love with the mirror and may not bond or learn as much from you. For this reason, I am removing the mirror from my Conure's cage.
