I rate this at 4 stars because on some huskies, the rake doesn't do as well. It'll do ok, but it'll have some difficulty catching the clumps on huskies with very fine, thick hair. For all the other breeds I have used this on, it certainly does a wonderful job. Some of my co-workers continue to ask me if they can use my rake instead of the shop's! If you have a large breed with lots of hair, I definitely recommend this!
But, this DOES work beautifully for the long hair! In about 2 mins I collected a massive hair ball, and the only problem I can see is that my dog liked it too much and just laid down to enjoy it.
Needless to say, one side of her got much more brushing than the other.
5 stars for the use on long hair!
Having used it a few times now, I agree it is an excellent rake for a dog with a thick undercoat. It works well for both my spitzes (Japanese and German) so it would be great for the others in that family e.g. Keeshond, Samoyed, Lapphund (but not Pomeranian) with that massive woolly undercoat and long guard hairs. It works best holding it as shown on the back of pack : angled and holding the handle exactly as it is designed. It works on the undercoat as well as my old rake, however, it is quite large and I found the handle chunky and heavy compared to my old rake and slicker brush. At 8 and 11 kg and and 13/15 inches at the withers, my dogs fall into the small/medium category so I wish there was a smaller version of this which would be more effective for my dogs. Due to its size, it's harder to get angles with this, so the 'armpits", back of the front legs and sides of chest, which can matt ferociously, are hard to reach. I have to modify how I hold it, by putting my fingers through the hole and using a completely different motion, to reach those troublesome areas. For those parts, my old rake was definitely better. It might not be such an issue for a larger dog though.

My dog loves this brush. This one is the only one I have had that my dogs won't run away from when it's time to brush them. Gets TONS of hair off my husky and shepherdPublished 2 days ago by Ashleeeyyyyy
Great undercoat comb. End is smooth and does not hurt my dog's skin at all.Published 4 days ago by Rachel K.
This doesn't remotely work on my dog who is a pit mix. If you have a dog with hair like a pit-bull or doberman etc, this isn't going to work.Published 13 days ago by Elaine Funk
Great for shedding. I use it for my Siberian husky/ Akita. She enjoys the brushing.Published 17 days ago by Anna Chilingarian

This comb works well on my German shepherd puppy. I have to remember not to press to hard as this would hurt him but I do like the comb. Delivery was fast and I have no complaints.Published 1 month ago by Louise Webster
Not at all what I expected. It is very large. Wider than the width of my palm. Heck wider than my Pom. I am stuck with a tool too big for a horse. Read morePublished 1 month ago by oribhabor
