Nice little pocket/clip on radio!,
This review is from: JWIN ELECTRONICS JX-M10 AM/FM Pocket Radio (Electronics)
I'm glad I ignored the negative review(s) and bought the JX-M10. I wanted a little replacement radio to listen to while I ran, worked out in the gym, or so that I could listen to the broadcast while at a football or basketball game. I have found this radio to be perfect for all of those uses and more. It uses two AAA batteries (I use rechargables). I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but it doesn't seem to be a power hog. It comes with a detachable belt clip, an arm band that the radio can clip onto, and a detachable neck/wrist band. It's small enough to fit in a front shirt pocket. It has digital tuning that uses a bi-directinal thumb wheel rather than a scan button. It is very sensitive, but took only about 30 seconds to get used to tuning in a station. It has no tuning indicator, so you have to know the frequency you want to tune into, but of course the signal is strongest at the proper frequency. I find that the tuning is very stable even while running. The earphones that come with the unit are OK, but I prefer smaller earbuds and any of them work well, act as the FM antenna and cuts off the speaker when plugged in. It comes with a wire (not telescoping) FM antenna which you plug in to listen to FM through the speaker, the AM antenna is built in. It has separate AM and FM power on buttons which serve to turn the unit on directly to AM or FM, or to switch between the two bands. It has a separate button to turn the unit off. It also remembers the last station you were tuned into after it's turned off. For instance, if you were listening to an FM station when you turned it off, it will still be on that station if you turn it on with the FM power on button. It has a clock and an alarm feature, but doesn't wake to radio (I haven't used it and don't know what it sounds like). The sound through earbuds is really good. Sound through the speaker is good too, just remember that it's a mini radio. I think that this is a very versatile, go anywhere radio and a great buy for the price. I got mine for under $10.00 with shipping included. I am really pleased.

You get what you pay for. That's still true. The station tuning button didn't work well. When I tune in for a station, the station number didn't show up correctly. The radio station that shows on the front window always screw up. I get some stations though. It would be good enough for those listening to a few stations (not radio surf) and stick with them. I bought it for the speaker feature. Not many small or tiny radios have the speaker function, most require a headphone. I give it a small credit for its overall small size and the decent sound that comes out of its tiny speaker.

Don't waste your money!,

I couldn't find a Sony Walkman so I tried one of these. The appearance of this piece of junk is deceiving. It has a digital display however tuning the tuning knob is very crude, sticky and analog.FM tuning bands are very broad and overlap allowing for considerable interference. AM sensitivity is very poor compared to my Sony Walkman headphone AM/FM radio and compared to the lost Sony Walkman pocket radio I hoped to replace. Ironically a wire antenna that plugs into the earphone socket is included but does ZERO for the AM band. There are separate power on and power off buttons; dumb. An additional annoyance the power on button defaults to the AM band. The most useless feature is the built in alarm clock. I can only imagine this piece of feature-itis was added to make up for the deficiency of this product in the area of its intended purpose.
