4.0 out of 5 stars I think JWin may be reading my mind ...
... because I've been wanting a boombox with a radio that can play mp3 CD-Rs & CD-RWs, SD cards and hook up to my mp3 player. The sound is as you would expect from a product at this price.

The only things I would tweak is to make the display show artist, song and album titles. Currently, it only shows the track number. And, how about an alarm clock...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Player with Versatile Inputs
I have purchased and used this Jwin player for about two months now. I needed a small and portable player that can play MP3 files on both CD and flash memory, and this one seemed to fit all my needs. I didn't consider the high quality sound since the player was intended to use for playing only children's songs.

Here is my thoughts:

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Player with Versatile Inputs, June 10, 2008

This review is from: jWin JXCD561 Portable AM/FM MP3 CD/MP3 Boombox With Memory Reader (Electronics)
I have purchased and used this Jwin player for about two months now. I needed a small and portable player that can play MP3 files on both CD and flash memory, and this one seemed to fit all my needs. I didn't consider the high quality sound since the player was intended to use for playing only children's songs.

Here is my thoughts:

Pros)
- Size: It was a lot smaller than I have expected and very light to carry around.
- Flash/SD Memory: Works fine with my 1GB SD memory. Manual specifies that it works with up to 2GB.
- Volume Control: The volume control is a dial which I prefer over a button type.
- Backlight Display: It helps to read music tracks during the night.
- Price: It was the only unit that I can find around $40 having all the features listed.

Cons)
- Bass Sound: Although I didn't expect quality sound, the sound, especially bass, is awfully bad. There is a bass bost feature, but I don't hear any difference.
- Tunner: It is manual and the reception is as bad as the radio in my alarm clock.
- CD Lid: CD lid is opened by just lifting, which can be broken easily.
- No ID3 tag display: Only current track # is displayed.
- Button layouts: Play & Stop buttions are very small and not intuitively placed.

I would only recommend this player to whom needs to play light music like children's songs with limited space.

I got one of these awhile back and been having trouble ever since. More then 80% of the time it won't read my CD or a CD with mp3's on it. So as a last resort I put in a usb flash drive. Well it reads the small drive like a 256 mega bytes but it can't read my 2 gig flash drive. I bought this machine for work so I wanted a long playing device but forget it. I hate it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stopped playing cd-r/rw, June 2, 2009

After reading the other reviews all I need to put down is:

First week it played my mp3 cd-r just fine.
2nd week noticed it took longer to load up directory.
3rd week it won't play any cd-r/rw disks ( mp3 or cd-da ) and it has problems with store bought cd's.

Someone said you get what you pay for, actually a $20 mp3 player hooked up to speakers would be alot better than this...and it would show you the name of the track your playing.

This is junk, dont buy it. On top of that they don't say what the limits are on the media your trying to play ( memory size, max # of tracks, etc ),

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing product, December 7, 2007
This review is from: jWin JXCD561 Portable AM/FM MP3 CD/MP3 Boombox With Memory Reader (Electronics)
I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this product. The sound from the speakers was of very poor quality and I returned the product to Amazon. I am however very much pleased with the way the return was handled by Amazon. Very professional and quite satisfying.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good buy, October 24, 2008

This review is from: jWin JXCD561 Portable AM/FM MP3 CD/MP3 Boombox With Memory Reader (Electronics)
I am very pleased with Amazon by sending me this unit at a very good
price, I really enjoy this little boombox, it has everything you might
be looking for: CD/MP3 playback (store up to 214 songs in a single CD)
sd card, usb flash drive connection if you want to put over 1,000 songs
in a flash drive and listen to your favorite songs for many days, and
of course auxiliary inputs for your Ipod or mp3 player, what else can
you ask for a price like this. I recommend this product to anyone who
likes that space saving and all the features in a little machine. Amilcar.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best music experience I ever purchased., October 17, 2008

This thing works flawlessly. SD cards are dirt cheap and play faster than CD's. The MP3 CD function play better than any I have used and the USB plays thumbdrives but at a slower loading pace.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skips on most CD's, July 12, 2008
This review is from: jWin JXCD561 Portable AM/FM MP3 CD/MP3 Boombox With Memory Reader (Electronics)
We ordered this item excited about its ability to play MP3 and standard CD's. Right out of the box it skipped on the first CD we played, but we were able to get it to play fine if we carefully inserted the CD. Now, two months later every CD skips and we are frustrated since we can't return it. We don't know if this is a fault of every unit, but it was our frustrating experience and suggests there may be a quality control problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Portable player with flash card reader, April 23, 2008

This review is from: jWin JXCD561 Portable AM/FM MP3 CD/MP3 Boombox With Memory Reader (Electronics)
I have searched high and low for a self-contained "boombox" that reads memory cards and the Jwin Jxcd561 is it. This unit also includes an USB port for jump drives. The audio output isn't bad for a small unit but don't expect it to sound like the larger boomboxes.
