Born a Writer, lived as an Adventurer in Life.
"[Death of Heaven] ... has a Books of Blood vibe [referring of course to Clive Barker's seminal horror books], which really works well. It's in these tales that the author's writing ability shines. He demonstrates a lovely turn of phrase and some of the writing is almost poetic in its beauty." From Michael Brookes, Author & Reviewer
Since the start of the new Millennium I have been writing from my home, tucked away on some very pleasantly forested acreage, just across Puget Sound from Seattle.
So far, I've survived a strange and wonderful life. Okay, not always so wonderful.
My childhood was pretty intense. I survived ADHD as a kid and evolved into ADD which was challenging and seemed useless at times. I found through those trials and tribulations that it either sits on your head throughout your life, or it raises you up on its shoulders. But it's one's own choice.
There was lots of tension in our home. My reading HG Wells, HP Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Edgar Allen Poe and others of that type, probably had something to do with keeping me sane. Those writers certainly gave me the escape I needed to survive. Along with music. All kinds. Heavy Metal before it was cool, psychedelic, experimental, classical, electronic.
I later discovered (along with the rest of the world) Stephen King and the other usual suspects. Eventually I graduated (in my mind) to Clive Barker. I tended to move in cycles from being fascinated by Horror, then Science Fiction, then Fantasy, then Science Fact, finally cycling back around to Horror, SF and so on. I ran through that cycle over much of my lifetime.
I also found along the way that people liked my writings. I started trying to sell them and people started to buy them. Now I have a a couple of books out, a bunch of ebooks, and some audiobooks. I'm trained at University to write screenplays and so I'm also working in that arena.
Do what you love to do. Compromise only to stay alive. In the end, it's a short life, live it well and leave an enduring legacy.
I started writing screenplays in college when I got chosen for a special year long class with seven other talented individuals who were actors, writers and comedians. All theatre majors and I, the only Psych. Major.
My screenplays include a screen adaptation of TL Mitchell's paranormal romance novel, "Dark of kNight"; and Author Kelly Abell's, "Sealed in Lies", a spy romance novel.
Of those original screenplays of mine currently roaming the world for a home is a Horror/Comedy titled, "Gray and Lover: The Hearth Tales". A story about two very interesting Steampunk females who are Demon Fighters and named Gray and Lover. They may very well have adventures in a sequel as they seem to be very popular among those who have read this screenplay.
It is about a famous Horror writer being stalked by a murderously defective Demon, conjured up by his Gold-digger wife in order to kill him. It opens with the death of a very famous terrorist we all know and an alternative explanation for what "really" happened that fateful day, May 2, 2011 in, Abbottabad, Pakistan.
I do hope you enjoy my works as much as I've enjoyed the hard worked I've put into them.
