Great Story-Excellent Paranormal Romance,
By Southern Gal "Southern Gal" (New Mexico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ja-Rael's Lioness (Paperback)
I was surprised how much I liked this book. I don't usually like futuristic romance. Good story, great romance, I liked both the main charters, Elise was NORMAL, she reacted to her situation just about the way most of us would, she was strong had good humor and was pragmatic about things. She didn't "over" react and she was not a "warrior". Ja-ral was strong and nice too. Even though he was a strong individual he was not a "chest beater". This was a good story all around and you will really like them. I like the author Angelique Anjou and will buy more of her books.

I was hesitant to buy this Erotic Futuristic Romance book because there were no reviews, after reading it, I'm really glad I did. If you enjoy Michelle Pillow & Katilyn O'Connor sci-fi romance books, you will enjoy this book also. As soon as I finished I ordered this authors other books.

Well done Sci Fi romance. This was a human alien story. I thought at first that there was going to be serious info dumping but, even though the set up was a little clunky, the author got the info dump over with quickly and the story picked right up. I thought the set up of why Jareal was so desperate for a mate was well thought out and the alien culture was sufficiently alien to be interesting. I enjoyed the heroine even though she occasionally had some bad knee jerk reactions but at least she was aware of her mistakes and tried to fix them and she wasn't just being a bitch for the hell of it. The hero was nice too although about halfway through the book we stopped getting much from his POV which made him not quite as well rounded as he started out to be. This was basically a relationship story. There were some sex scenes. I'd say 6 or so of them. They were sufficiently hot enough to be interesting but were not raunchy. The pheromone thing was interesting and fairly well set up as to the human angle. I would have liked to know how it fit into the alien (Meeran) physiology. Pretty well written and the plot made sense. The ending was just a tad bit abrupt and at first I thought the epilogue was odd but at the end you saw how it fit with the story. I hope there are some sequels about the people in the epilogue because I would love to read more stories about this world.

MEEE-OOOW! I totally enjoyed this!,
This review is from: Ja-Rael's Lioness (Paperback)
I like futuristic romance and cat-men are ALWAYS cool! Some **Spoilers**Ja'Rael and Elise are likable and quite realistic characters. And I know I'm not the only woman out there that likes the idea of finding a "mate". Ja'Rael's culture was believable and interesting, but I liked how Elise mistakes him for a local on the planet her people fell onto. I like that he isn't really what she thinks at all and is someone she comes to care about away from Tor and back on his home planet of Meeri. Though, Meeri females aren't very admirable... It's hilarious that Ja'Rael can't fly his ship very well and lands even worse! I also think it is funny that he's an upstanding, respected citizen that smuggles animals on the side for extra cash! (Though normally I am completely against all criminal activity that harms animals - bad criminals! No!) My favorite part was when he figured out that she'd turned off her birth-control and was pregnant, and then later when he and the other doctor were so shocked by "twins"! It was a funny twist when his species is the feline one - and you know how cats breed! Anjou has a decent writing style and I liked her plot and characters. For anyone who enjoys futuristic romance, you'll like this! I actually wish there were more in the series. I would buy them for sure! |
