Couldn't be happier with this stereo headset. Purchased for my wife last week (for Valentines Day) with the hope she wouldn't like it and I could snag it back. Well, that didn't work out as planned and after using it I'm pretty ticked about the whole deal.

I purchased this to have a slightly less geeky bluetooth headset, with stereo being very important. The sound quality for phone use is reasonably good, and I like how effectively it filters out background noise, both physically with the in ear earbuds, and limiting the noise from my environment to those I'm talking with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jabra BT-3030 - Just Splendid!, February 14, 2008

Couldn't be happier with this stereo headset. Purchased for my wife last week (for Valentines Day) with the hope she wouldn't like it and I could snag it back. Well, that didn't work out as planned and after using it I'm pretty ticked about the whole deal.

We've found this has very good battery life, much greater range than any of our other BT devices, and the sound quality of music, as well as send/receive phone, is better than expected...Having passed the "Dad" test on at least 5 occasions. FYI - my dad is a real pain when it comes to phone call clarity. Offering up all sorts of "you on that headpeice dealie now" comments when calls aren't crystal clear. ((Nokia BT-800 is the only other BT unit to pass this scrutiny))

The supplied phones sound dang good and with my Sennheiser's I'm really sorry the wife isn't playing my game. The unit came with an ac charger, but other than the first charge I used a mini-usb we had lying around. It would be great if you could use while charging, but it charges in 30-45 minutes so not a loss. Battery life for music is well beyond 5hrs (that's how much was on the memory card) + about an hour of phone. I should note the unit flashes red when battery is low and it did so for 2hours and was still jamming. I'll blame that on the battery only having cycled twice at the time.

Some of the review sites have fixated on the Dog-Tag looking unit and seem to skimp on the functionality aspect. Yes, it looks like Dog-Tags - well it has to look like something, why not Dog-Tags. It has no sharps, doesn't snag on things and feels quite sturdy. All in all we're very happy with the form and function. When it was new we (I) spent a great amount of time hitting the buttons and onterwise fondling it because I (we) could. After some time behind the wheel, the layout is rather intuitive and the buttons have raised icons which we now navigate through songs and phone answereing tasks thoughtlessly. Very handy because you will use this with an index finger when worn like a pendant or thumb when operated like a remote. Even the ice cream wiped off easily without a trace. Wifee doesn't have a clue we (I) dipped her present in an after shopping snack.

Highly Recommended.

Have a Great Day

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard of Hearing, February 11, 2008
This review is from: Jabra BT3030 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This device is wonderful. I am hard of hearing and am able to use this device with induction ear hooks which broadcasts my cellphone directly into my hearing aids. I just take out the earphones included with the unit and plug in my ear hooks! This makes a kind of "neckloop" but at just a bit over half what it would cost to buy one. The sound is great.

For the hard of hearing, if you are looking for a good bluetooth device for your cellphone this is it.

I purchased this to have a slightly less geeky bluetooth headset, with stereo being very important. The sound quality for phone use is reasonably good, and I like how effectively it filters out background noise, both physically with the in ear earbuds, and limiting the noise from my environment to those I'm talking with.

Pairing is mostly very easy. I had intermittent issues getting both my computer and my phone working together initially, but now it's almost seamless. I can be listening to music and a phone call will interrupt the computer music during the call, and then return to the music on hangup. I don't really use the remote control features for music (except volume, which is fine). The answer button works well for picking up calls, but is sketchy for hanging up.

The sound quality for listening to music is OK, but a bit base heavy tending to make everything thumpy. The biggest issue I have is that there is a very noticeable delay in the sound. It is a slight annoyance in phone conversations, but it makes watching video on my computer incredibly annoying.

Purchased as a compliment to a cell phone with integral music player. Great for exercise, waterproof and seems very durable. Can answer calls with music playing and it will resume the music after the call. Able do use my favorite headphones (didn't particularly like the ones that came with the unit). Lightweight and has convenient options for wearing or carrying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, wowie wow wow., February 6, 2008
This review is from: Jabra BT3030 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I love the BT3030. I use it with the Jabra A120s on my iPod as well as with my Cyber Blue Bluetooth USB dongle.

With the a120s I get about 40 feet away line of site (cubicles) or less than 20 feet through standard home walls. With the CyberBlue dongle however, I can use it all the way into the restroom which is over 60' away & through 2 walls & a bathroom stall.

When paired with the A120s you can only control the volume, but with the dongle I can play/pause & skip forward & back.

I use this with my Oticon Tego P hearing aids & it works so much better than my Eli bluetooth adapter. The Eli would last MAYBE 1.5 hours for music, a bit more for talk. The BT3030 lasts about 5-7 hours depending on the volume I have it set to. It's really no larger than a real dogtag at 5.5cmlx3.5wx1cm thick.

Being so small, it hangs from a ball link chain (see pic) or from your zipper if you want. It charges via a USB adapter. Linking it with the a120s is NOT mentioned in the documentation, but here's how it's done:

1: turn on the a120s (make sure it's plugged into your audio source)
2: turn on the BT3030
3: wait about 20 seconds.
4: that's it.

For bluetooth phones or PCs it's only slightly trickier as you need to use the password which is "0000" but once they are paired up, all you need to do is select "connect" on the device to be listened to & then turn on the BT3030.

Even though there are bluetooth headphones out there, I like the BT3030 because you can use it with ANY headphone that can attach to a 3.5mm jack. In my case it's my hearing aid, but you can use your favorite set.

The ONLY downside to it is that you need a usb to charge it and you can't continue using it while it's charging. But it's a minor complaint. I Also think it'd be nice if it had a user replaceable battery.

For phone use it has a small microphone in the top. I don't know how well it works as I've never used it and can't comment on that.

Pretty much all the reviews state what I have, but the one thing that needs to be brought to attention, especially for those who plan on putting this in their car for playing music through while driving, is that it CANNOT BE USED WHILE CHARGING. I'm going to keep it as some additional support to get me to start running, but I'm going to keep looking for a car solution for playing music on my phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Bluetooth earphones out there., October 22, 2008

I've tried five different bluetooth headphones from different companies and they all failed to meet what I was expecting. My brother got this ones for him and let me tried them 3 days after I order my owns and I cant be happier with my purchase. They are great to talk and to listen to Music. If you want good quality look no further. Thanks for making such good earphones and the tag dog is really cool also, they are not bulky and you can hide it under your shirt. 10/10

Pros
1 Standard USB for charging, uses any 3.5mm headphones; this non-proprietary attitue deserves an award from somewhere!
2 Long battery life
3 I can use the controls on my phone or the 3030
4 Pushing phone button on 3030 activates my voice command function on cell
5 Durable - stainless steel and high quality rubber. I've sweated all over this thing while running (with it under my shirt to tame the cords), and it's worked flawlessly. Keypad resembles the first generation razor silver, and they work great.
Cons - none enough to delete a star
1 Volume maximum is too low. My usual setting is WFO while running, though it's got plenty for phone conversations and chilling with MP3s. But if you want to "thump" your tunes, this isn't for you.
2 Design is fodder for small talkers. I usually hide it in a pocket or under my shirt. This may be a plus for you, but it will start conversations.
Overall - 5 stars. And 5 stars to Amazon too for a lower price than the website that sent me email introduing this device to me, and for once again shipping days prior to promised receipt date.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the gym., March 16, 2008

This is my second BT stereo device which I use with my Blackjack phone for music and audible books. I had the orginal GlobalSat, and it worked OK; little range, lots of interferance, and a mic that was useless. I thought I had lost it so I ordered the Jabra BT-3030. What a difference. Sound is great with a much better range, and it is ok to sweat on it thanks to the water seal. I set my Blackjack phone in one place while I walk around the gym using the different freeweights and machines. Then I take it to the cardio room and set it down while I run and cycle. I may drench it during my workout, then just wipe it off as I do the treadmill. It looks great and works flawless. The chain around my neck keeps me from clipping it on my running shorts and it digging into my side. Oh, did I mention most people don't know when I answer the phone that I am using it. It auto pauses my music or book then auto resumes once the call is ended.

I found my GlobalSat and offered it to my wife. She said there was such a difference hearing me on the Jabra that she did'nt want the old GlobalSat and asked me to order her one of the Jabras. I did.

Short and to the point:

I use these for running (2 to 8 mile runs) and they are great!

Pros:
1. No slippage from my ears when running! (my biggest fear)
2. Sound good (could use more bass)
3. Pairing with phone is super simple (Blackberry Storm)
4. No issues with moisture (I sweat a lot)
5. Good for phone calls or music! (also those annoying mid-run calls)
6. Charge lasts for several runs (also charges quickly)

Cons:
1. Dog tag hangs around your neck (may bother some, but not me)
2. Volume buttons don't control Blackberry media player volume
