4.0 out of 5 stars Great headset for my LG phone
I have the LG VX8100 phone with MP3 capability. I was looking for a headset where I can (a) listen to music in both ears, (b) talk on my phone, and (c) has the hooks to the earbuds (because normal earbuds do not stay in my ears). The Jabra Stereo Earbuds fulfilled all of the above requirements.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but sound quality fell short, January 26, 2006
This review is from: Jabra C220 Stereo Earbuds - 2.5mm (Wireless Phone Accessory)
After researching these headphones on Amazon and other places, I decided to buy because most earbud hurt like hell in my ears once I stuff them in far enough to get good sound quality.

These Jabra earphones came in the mail and I was excited to try them out. Initially they fit *very* comfortably, but I could tell that they didn't go into the ear as far as I had hoped even with the biggest gel adapter to get decent sound quality. After I plugged these eaphones into my vx8100 phone, they sounded "tinny" with barely any bass.

These headphones are for people who are looking for portability and not so much for sound quality. They stay on your ears very well, and if you are doing heavy activity, these are what you are looking for. Still, expect no bass sound out of these. I will probably keep them because they are very comfortable, and I expect to use them for working out and bicycling and they do allow you to still hear the outside world, which I think is important...especially when bicycling.

I read one review of these headphones being too loud. I did not experinece that problem at all.

3.0 out of 5 stars You need an adapter (that ma not exist) for most phones, October 26, 2005
This review is from: Jabra C220 Stereo Earbuds - 2.5mm (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Cons:
Because it designed for 3 channels (left & right speakers, Microphone) on a 2.5mm plug it does not work any phone that was designed from 2 channels (single speaker, microphone). There is no adapter provided for people without the newest phones designed specifically for a 2.5mm 3 channel plug.

Hope this clears-up the issues everyone is having with Jabra's product.

(...)

Pros:
The ear buds are extremely comfortable.
It comes with an 3.5mm adapter to use with standard audio equipment.
Sound quality is excellent.
Microphone clarity and pickup is very good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but ..., August 18, 2005
This review is from: Jabra C220 Stereo Earbuds - 2.5mm (Wireless Phone Accessory)
When I read the review about the Jabra C120S, I found some similarities to the kind of problems I have with the Jabra C220S, so I decided to write this review.
I bought this headset for my phone equipped PDA. I will let you read the pros about this product as it is mentioned in the item description, and will only mention the cons to save you time:
* First thing I noticed is that the cord is relatively short...at least 8" shorter than a standard headset cord.
* When I inserted the 2.5 mm jack, I heard one side speaker working. The other was not. I had to pull the jack about 1/32" out to be able to get sound from both earpieces.
* The auto answer button is not functioning at all.
Other than this I do agree with all the Pros mentioned above.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great headset for my LG phone, July 26, 2006
This review is from: Jabra C220 Stereo Earbuds - 2.5mm (Wireless Phone Accessory)

The sound is very clear for both the music and talking on the phone. My only complaint is that the MP3s are too loud, even on the lowest setting on my phone (it's pretty quiet if I'm playing it through the speakerphones on my phone). I think it's due to the distribution of the earbuds (notice how the earbuds are irregular shaped - it funnels the sound out of the end of the earbuds).

Otherwise, I get clear sound through with this headset, and I'm very happy with it.

Follow up: I accidentally broke the shirt clip on the phone. I emailed the customer service department, and they quickly responded within the next business day, and my new clip is coming via UPS (no charge). They have great customer service support.

I didn't have any of the problems with this headset that others listed here when using it with my Sendo X. You need to make sure that your phone requires a four-conductor plug and not the usual 3-conductor kind. The answer button and microphone worked perfectly. That said, I did have problems. While the gel pads fit my ears comfortably, a tiny shifting of the earpiece almost completely blocked off the sound. These headphones are also unbelievably sensistive - even on the lowest volume setting on my phone they were so loud that they hurt my ears. I would keep this headset if I they included an inline volume control, but unfortunately they don't.

This is an excellent product. I dont understand all of the bad ratings because I haven't had one problem with it yet. The sound quality is fine, not excellent but these are not $350 headphones, they're $30, so what do you expect. The part that inserts into your ear is very comfortable. So far no cons. Highly Reccomended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed, March 1, 2008
This review is from: Jabra C220 Stereo Earbuds - 2.5mm (Wireless Phone Accessory)
These headphones were perfect for me. I love the in-ear design so that it actually stays on my ear while I'm listening to music. It lets just enough outside noise in so that I can enjoy my music while still being aware of what is going on around me. Even though they were designed for cell phones, they still meet my mp3 player needs just fine.

The Jabra C220 Stereo Earbuds - 2.5mm are a good buy for the price. They are handy, easy to use and stay on my head nicely while I work out at the gym. It is true though what others have said about the bass quality. They are definity short in the high fidelity department, although for the price I've gotten my money's worth.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far, so great - for my VX 9800!, December 22, 2006

~FURTHER UPDATE, ALMOST THREE YEARS LATER~

Well, I still own these headphones, and even though I don't use them very regularly, they've held up well over the years, still fit comfortably, and still deliver great sound! At this stage of the game, there are plenty of Bluetooth headsets out there that run, price-wise, over, under, and around the same price that you'll find these at, but Jabra always has (in my experience) and probably always will make good, quality, reliable products. This one is definitely worth the selling price, even in today's technologically updated market.

~UPDATE~

I've now owned my Jabra headset for about two weeks, and I still LOVE IT! I used my phone and this headset to provide my music for my workout, and the headset stayed put perfectly, and delivered above-average sound quality throughout the duration of my workout. In travelling through numerous airports over the holiday season, it was the perfect way to drown out incessant background airport noise. I LOVE this thing!

*~*

In my initial search for a headset for my phone, I was hoping to find a set that would give me good audio for my MP3s, as well as function well when I am on a call. As far as I can tell, after only owning this for a day, this headset more than adequately covers every requirement I had for it. I took a call yesterday on this, and had the call recipient complaining about the audio being too loud, which, to me, is a plus. I'm not stuck any more asking the standard "can you hear me now?" when on my cell phone using a hands-free set.

As far as the audio goes when listening to my MP3s, this definitely has stereo sound in my opinion, even if it is a bit lacking when it comes to bass. The volume and audio quality delivered by this Jabra headset beats the poor quality audio that I was used to listening to from the cheapie-cheapie off-brand headset I'd spent thirteen bucks for at my local CompUSA a few months back. Time and again, "you get what you pay for" has been proven to me to be true, and it seems to be the case once again here.

I wasn't even using my phone's MP3 feature prior to receiving this headset. Now that I've got it, and see what my phone's MP3 player feature is truly capable of, I'm definitely looking forward to putting it to use in my travels, and exercise activities. Jabra comes through for me once again!

These earbuds rock!
They fit into my ear perfectly and don't stand out.
I've been using them with my LG cellphone while jogging for a couple months now and haven't had any problems.
