Simple, Functional Product, Made even Better,
By
This review is from: Jabra Earbud for Nokia 3000 and 8000 Series Phones (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I used a Jabra earbud for my Samsung phone for 2 years, and while I was disappointed I couldn't use the same set up for my new Nokia 8200, Jabra did a great job with this product. There wasn't a whole lot that needed improving in the first place, the three ear piece sides in either left or right allow a comfortable fit, the microphone does a great job of picking everything up, and the speaker works great (you can hear over just about any level of ambient noise). But Jabra did make some very good improvements both superficially, gone are the neon ear pieces, which have been replaced by more subtle colors, but structurally as well. The earpiece itself is much sturdier than its predecessor, the sized earpieces fit much more snuggly to the speaker/microphone so that they can't slide off, and finally the on/off switch is very handy. There wasn't much room to improve this product, as it is already fantastic, but Jabra managed to do so. This is a product that actually makes the phone better, and I highly recommend it.

Button rattles,

This review is from: Jabra Earbud for Nokia 3000 and 8000 Series Phones (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The on/off button on the mike rattles audibly. Since that is where the mike is... it picks it up loudly. It bothered me. Then I had a listener say it was hurting their ears. I obtained a brand new Jabra Earbud and it had the identical problem. I returned it again and have not come back. Jabra's appear to be nice, but not the earbud with the button near the mike.

Worked beautifully the first phone call and after that, kaput! It started shorting out and then wouldn't work at all--and I promise I didn't bang it around or do anything out of the ordinary to it.

A piece of junk,
This review is from: Jabra Earbud for Nokia 3000 and 8000 Series Phones (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I have had the opportunity to try the Jabra unit and several others that were considerably cheaper. The one thing I cannot get over with the Jabra is how lousy the sound is compared to that of the JVC TF-HF20. The Jabra unit sound borders on almost unusable!!! I do like the "jelly" insert and the ability to use the earpiece without having to clip on the wire but the speaker is of such a poor quality that it ruins overall sound beyond anything else I have heard. Would definitely not recommend (unless you like a "muddy" sound).

One of the worst available,

I bought a Jabra for my Nokia 6160, and found it to be unusable. I couldn't hear anything, and my callers could barely hear me. I replaced the Jabra with a Plantronics headset and that worked much better. For my recently purchased Ericsson, I bought the factory earpiece and that works better than the Jabra, as well.In my experience, headsets that have a separate mike and speaker work much better than a one-piece unit such as the Jabra. |
