In use, with any of the included eargels and any shape bent into the hooks, these Jabras stay well outside the ear canal. This is a deliberate design feature, since it allows a lot of environmental noise in -- helping users stay safe while running near traffic, for instance -- but it also has some bad consequences for the sound. The headphones are very weak in the bass and lower midrange, not producing much richness of tone even for non-bass-heavy music (and they're pretty much unacceptable for hip-hop even with heavy EQ bass boosting). In any use, they need to be driven very loud, near the top of the volume range, for acceptable sound, cutting down on battery life and headroom. The sound tends toward tinny treble-heaviness, but is otherwise pleasant; still, at this price point, there are a host of far better choices for serious music-listening.
The nifty form factor is what makes these Jabra headphones worth considering for active users, despite their average-at-best sound quality. Their distinctive wide, rubbery, yellow cable is excellent, the best I've seen on any set of portable earphones for resisting tangling, and includes a useful, moveable clip as well as a phone-compatible mic/remote.Read more ›
Not even bother to return them anymore. Might as well just throw away - stay away from these headphones
I previously purchased Philips and Altec Lansing headphones, both of which took getting used to before I could wear them for long periods of time without discomfort. Neither of them were rugged enough to use during gym sessions, so I left them at home.
I then tried using Logitech's Ultimate Ears 200 Noise-Isolating Earphones but the cords were too flimsy to use during exercise (although they work great when I'm perched in front of my laptop). Over-the-ear headphones are too heavy to wear during exercise; they make my ears hot and sweaty during a movie. I can't imagine wearing them on a treadmill.
The package includes:
1 Jabra Sport Corded Stereo Headset
1 extension cable
3 pairs of Ultimate Comfort Eargels
1 phone adapter for most Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericcson phones with a 3.5mm plug
1 Quick Start Manual
1 carrying case
The package also includes an advertisement for the Endomondo Sports Tracker, which uses your mobile phone to track your running, walking or bicycling with GPS. The Pro version is available at the Android Market for $4.01.
In summary, I'm going to continue to reach for my Jabra Corded Stereo Sports Headset when I go to the gym.Read more ›
-They're uncomfortable. This headset has a hook-like design that fits around your ear much like a bluetooth headset. The hook is does not seem to have been developed with comfort in mind at all; although it may very well feel differently on someone else's ear. The hook push into my ear so hard that just wearing the headset for a few minutes causes my outer ear to ache horribly. If I try to loosen the headset, it creates an entirely different problem.
-They're either too tight or too loose. When they're tight, you get the uncomfortable feeling that I just described. When you loosen them, however, they are quick to fall off the instant you ever-so-slightly shake your head. If it didn't claim to be a "sports headset" it wouldn't be as big of a problem, but I was honestly looking for something that would stay on my ear throughout heavy movement without me having to tighten it to the point of pain. The problems don't stop at how these headsets fit, though.
-They don't have good sound quality. There are extension cords added with the headset to make it easier to not have to have your phone or iPod extremely close to you. Unfortunately, with each extension you add on, the sound quality gets worse; and when all three cords are connected, the sound is distorted beyond recognition.Read more ›
