Lightweight Miracle,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jabra WAVE Bluetooth Headset- Black [Retail Packaging] (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I purchased this headset to replace a broken BT500V, that I'd used every day for the past two years. When this arrived, I was so surprised on how light it was, and how clear the sound quality. Everyone I've talked to so far swears I'm not using a Bluetooth headset and they can't tell when I'm outdoors or in the car with the window down.
Pros: Very lightweight (almost too light) Very comfortable (worn it 8-12 hrs per day so far, and hardly notice it is there) Volume is good, but could be a bit louder for me. Volume buttons are easy to find and push. Charging is by STANDARD MicroUSB connector. Finally, I can charge my phone, headset, and dozens of other devices with the same cord! Answer/End button is where it should be... on the end of the boom (just like the BT500V) Talk-time is per manufacturer specs. I talked on it for just over 6-hrs before the "low battery" warning was heard. Audible Warnings - what a perfect idea... now I don't have to worry if my headset will last through a conference call because I get warnings in my ear when I have approximately 30-min of battery left. Stand-by time has not been tested fully, but I expect it to be right on target. On/Off switch is an actual switch! Finally, someone used their heads and got away from the dreaded push-and-hold button for on/off. Light does not blink all the time... which is a good thing for the car so my kids don't complain about the flashing light. Light only comes on (steady) when you are on a call. Headset appears to be smaller/lighter version of the BT250V, which is/was very durable and flexible, not like the rigid parts of the BT500V or 5020 Executive model. I still have a BT250V, and use it as a back-up (although battery doesn't hold charge too long, but what do you expect after 5-years of use?). Cons: Foam microphone cover makes it a bit harder to find/push the answer/end button, but I'll get use to it. Very light - if you are not careful, you'll knock it off or NOT be wearing it when you think you are! I've already "pushed thin air" to try to make a call more than once! NO VIBRATE FEATURE - I know if it had vibrate, it would be heavier and larger, but hey, in very noisy situations, you can't hear the ring-tone. The vibrate feature of the BT250/500V was what made the units "special" (and worth the extra ounce of weight). Overall, I am very pleased with the fit and function of the Wave Headset. I've tried other brands and styles, but Jabra has everyone else beat on comfort, function, sound, quality, and durability of their headsets. If you're on-the-fence regarding Jabra products, try one... buy one... you'll never go back to Plantronics or Motorola!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
My disclaimer is that I received this through Amazon Vine, therefore I did not pay for it, however I rate everything I receive through Vine as if I've paid for it.
I've tried several In the Ear model headsets but have always had issue with finding the right fit; the gels that fit on the headset were either too large, meaning dropped headset or too small, which meant it went too far into the ear and caused physical pain. I actually had a Jawbone ICON-Series Hero Bluetooth Headset (Black) also from Jabra that I loved the audio quality and ease of use, but I could never find the right fit. With this over the ear design I no longer have to feel like I have something jammed in my ear or worry overly much that it will "pop" out of my ear. Very nice, light weight design on the WAVE means wearing it all day doesn't cause ear fatigue. The retail packaging for the Jabra WAVE was pretty easy to open. The headset sits on a small pedestal with all of the included accessories sitting below the pedestal, hidden behind the box label. In the box you receive: The headset USB charger Replacement ear piece Windsock Manual Pairing to my Blackberry was very simple, but then again the process is pretty simple using any phone with Bluetooth capability these days. Audio quality is top notch. The Hero I had was lauded for its sound clarity and amazing noise reduction capability and I'm pretty sure the programming they put into the Hero is similar to what was used here in the WAVE. I've actually had the window in my car down while driving and was able to hear, and be heard, quite well on both ends with the WAVE. Obviously I can only speak for my side of the conversation here, but my father said he had no problem hearing me so I take his word for it. You can pair this to up to 8 devices if you have a reason to do so, however I only have my phone and my laptop and the latter has no capability for Bluetooth, so I cannot comment on that functionality. In terms of listening to music or movies from your phone, the sound is mono and while it is serviceable, if you want any level of quality, get a stereo set of headphones without question if your phone will allow the connection. Jabra claims talk time of 6 hours, though in practice I've pulled off 4. Not a deal breaker for me and who knows, maybe it's a matter of how I'm using it? I don't know. One really nice thing is the micro-USB charging port. My Blackberry uses this connection for charging so while traveling I can get away with only carrying one charger. And charge time on this headset is very good. Full charge for me from empty in about an hour and a little bit. This is on par with The Hero I had. Over all I am quite pleased with the Jabra WAVE. It solved a huge problem I had with other in ear headsets (no good fit with any supplied ear gel) and it has audio quality both on the sending and receiving end that is the equal of the amazing Jawbone Hero.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I have never used a Bluetooth headset before and so it may be that my expectations are too high. However, after having used the headset for several weeks with my HTC Desire HD my feelings about it were pretty ambivilent. The Headset itself is remarkably light and unobtrusive. Wearing it, even after a very short time, I almost came to forget it was on. The sound quality in the ear was very good. The working elements of the headset were easy to learn and to operate and I found it second nature to answer and adjust the phone as needed. My only complaint, but a significant one, was that the bluetooth connection and voice transmission was extremely sensitive and even the act of putting the phone in my pocket (before getting a holster) would result in a very noticable change in quality, to a small degree in the hearing but very much so in the voice transmission. Even under the best of conditions people occassionally asked me to repeat myself and that increased to a seemingly exponential degree the further away my HTC was from the headset.
Overall the experience was eye-opening to appreciate the convenience of a headset, but in light of the voice transmission element, I ended up giving the headset to one of my sons and have returned to operating without one. 3 stars - Good but not Impressive overall. bart breen
