These two average hipster guys from Lawrence, Kansas are creating a very interesting blend of country, folk, and indie music using a minimal amount of acoustic instruments, amazing harmonized vocals, and some of the most profound lyric writing I've heard since Neutral Milk Hotel. They also utilize unconventional song structures in some of their music, favoring a more surprising and interesting combination of verses and bridges, then your standard verse, verse, chorus, verse.

I've listened to their other records pretty heavily, and they've grown on me quite a lot but I recently purchased Jabraham Lincoln and it's becoming one of my favorites among their others, Rover, Drakkansasauna, and 20009. Jabraham Lincoln feels a bit more intimate then the others, a few tracks like You Left Me Liberty, Paul's Letter to St. Job and Abandon Love are a bit more slower and mellow then some of their harsher, high-tempo country/bluegrass tracks, however they don't neglect their love for the high hills style completely as you'll find on the tracks Mongrel of a Halfman Slave Bitch. And then you have tracks like Om, John Surratt, which are certainly indie-folk inspired with the distinct use of the accordion sounds. Admittedly, I'm very impressed with their singing more then anything. It's not perfect, but it's very clear they don't take themselves too seriously to begin with. So if you're looking for a relatively modest, fresh indie-folk group of musicians, these guys are it. I hope to see them keep making more records. I haven't found music this good in a very long time.

Unlike any other music out there right now: inventive, unique, innovative, and the lyrics are genuis.

This is a beautiful album. That is all there is to be said about it.
