5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Romances Are More Than What They Seem to Be, March 27, 2000
By
Lance Stott (Austin, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Jacaranda Tree (Paperback)
What is so astounding about this novel is that it is more than a belly tickling love story with jaw-dropping scenes of passion. It is actually loaded with Biblical references, and filled with important symbolism. In fact, this story is such a spectacular myth that it deserves a great deal of afterthought once the book is finished. It has all of the plot elements which are so important to an engaging, page-turning romance. But then it goes beyond all of that, and invites itself to be examined more closely even after you've finished it and put it on the bedside table, smiling at the joy of reaching such a happy ending to such a nice story.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one made my keeper shelf..., October 2, 2009

...and when you've read as many romance novels as I have, not many of them do. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it's two main characters. Lucien was everything I could want from an alpha male, and I love it when the man knows that he wants the woman and goes after her! I get tired of books where the man can't commit, can't admit that he is actually in love, or is conflicted. Powerful love scenes too!

1.0 out of 5 stars The WORST romance book I have ever read!!!!, July 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Jacaranda Tree (Paperback)
This was, by far, the worst romance I have ever had to suffer through reading. There was absolutely no plot, and an overabundance of graphic sex. The characters are flat and driven by only one thought--satisfying thier overactive hormones. By the end of the book, I didn't care what became of the characters, wishing that the heroine had not survived the shipwreck. Not even worth touching. I would have given it a negative score if I could have.
