How many kids today know that when Jefferson "bought" the Louisiana purchase from Napoleon, the territory belonged to Spain?

If they do, it isn't from public schools - it's probably from this all but apocryphal little series. The few bold (fox) teevee stations that did run this show put it on around 2 a.m. so as to not raise the indignation of the proletariat - and rightly so; the punny vocabulary alone will alienate poorly educated folk like cops or joe6pak.

If, however, one has the education to 'get' what's going on, the historical research that went into this series' production will put a whole new spin on one's grasp of the history of western civilization - between laughs, that is.

By combining the best elements of spy, drama, comedy, western and pirate genres with often overlooked or obscured historical anomalies and exquisite period sets & costuming, each episode grabs one by the eyeballs and tickles the mind for half an hour; fun, funny, entertaining, educational and quite titillating to boot. Anyone not offended by the second paragraph above ought to enjoy the hell out of Jack's shenanigans!

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Jack of All Trades' Is Comedic Brilliance, Please Release On DVD!!!, February 24, 2006
This review is from: Jack of All Trades (DVD)
Back when 'Jack of All Trades' was originally airing on the local Fox channel, I watched every single episode, and laughed from the beginning to the end of each one with tears of joy running down my cheeks, it's quite simply that funny and entertaining.

Everything from the one liners, the characters, the facial expressions, intelligently written storylines, historical references, great costumes, warm atmosphere and beautiful set designs, it all adds up to one of the best if not the best sitcom/action-adventure show ever put together.

One cannot really go wrong with Bruce Campbell, and this role was made for him. He embodied the essence of Jack Stiles and the Dragoon perfectly. I am positive that if this show is released that it will become a major success by word of mouth, because there are few people who will not appreciate the cleverness and brilliant humor of this unforgettable and timeless classic.

To whomever owns the rights to 'Jack of All Trades', please release it as soon as possible, you will not regret it! There are many fans of the show like myself that cannot wait to get their hands on this comedic gem, so please do yourself a favor by publishing this truly wonderful show and the sales of it will prove both the financial validity to the industry and endearing value to the fans that 'Jack of All Trades' has. Thank you for your time and consideration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bruce Campbell is hilarious as Jack!, October 31, 2005

If you've seen the Evil Dead movies, you'd already know just how funny and witty Bruce can be. We only had a few of these episodes screened in Australia (at 2-3am), but they were brilliant... I was hooked from the very first. Its pure comic genius. I can't wait for this to be released on DVD... please, please, please release this soon!

I just recieved an update from TVShowsonDVD.com today stating that a DVD release for this show is on the way. No date has been given yet but they have created the artwork for the box. It will be a release of the entire series. Very excited to see when this will actually start appearing on release schedules.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, December 2, 2005
This review is from: Jack of All Trades (DVD)
This show got me hooked on the first episode. Bruce shows that he still has that cocky-funny acting for his character that was evident on Xena and Hercules. It is too bad that the awful show Cleopatra 2929 ended up getting this show canceled. I would love to see it come back.
