wonderful version of Jack and the Beanstalk,

This review is from: Jack and the Beanstalk (Hardcover)
The illustrations are beautiful and the text is, too. This is a longer, more involved version of the story than others I've read, but it was appealing to both of my kids at 3.5 and 6 years old. I like that the fairy tells Jack how the giant tricked his father, stole from him and caused his death and that Jack is there to take back what rightfully belongs to his family. It makes more sense than just Jack being a little thief. The giant dies in the end, but there's just a picture of him falling.

Five stars for the outstanding illustration by Mr. Spirin. That is the reason why I bought the book.
