Super Why Jack & the Beanstalk,
By
This review is from: Jack and the Beanstalk (Super WHY!) (Paperback)
This book was in excellent condition when it arrived. My son loves it lots. The only thing is, it's a very long book for a 2 1/2 yr old.

Just like the show,

This review is from: Jack and the Beanstalk (Super WHY!) (Paperback)
This is an entertaining book for any Super Why fan. I will say that the story reads just like the show. The characters "transform" and some display their super powers. From alpha pig reciting the alphabet, princess pea spelling, to Super Y changing the words of the story. (No rhyming with wonder red) You even have to find the "super letters". Because the book is so detailed, it is a bit long for a 2 year old. (The recommendation is > 4 yo) My child, still loves for me to read it though. I frequently improvise, just because there are so many words per page and I want to keep him interested. I like that three of the pages fold out. That keeps the book interesting. It's a story about Whyatt trying to figure out why his sister keeps crying. To find the answer, the super readers "look in a book" and make a visit to "Jack in the Beanstalk". Overall, it's an enjoyable book. It's also quite educational!

Like others have stated if your kids like super why they they will like these books. I bought several of these in the series and my kids love singing the jingle from the show as it I read it in the book. The pull out flaps work great but can be torn easily if your little one isn't careful. The books are written after different episodes and follow the episode very closely. My only gripe about these books is that the text is very small, I'm in my 30's and if the lighting isn't good I have a hard time reading them. It gets worse when I'm tired and trying to read after a long day. Other than that they are a hit with the kids.

Very Good Read,

This book is great for fans and non fans of the show alike. Definitely not for anyone under 3yrs old. The text is pretty small and the story is a bit long so you'll have to read this to your little one, but this only encourages family time reading which is a wonderful thing, no? ;o)

My son is begging for me to read this book as I finish the last sentence. He loves it. Some pages open up or fold out for interaction. He's 2 and a half and is a huge fan of the Super WHY! show. You even get to spot Super Letters through out the book.

Even though the age listed for this book is 4yrs and up, I ordered this for my 2 year old son because he LOVES the Super Why show. He is learning to recognize letters at this point. Not reading, yet. This book is very cute, but too many words per page for a wiggly two year old to sit and listen to. Overall, my son has very little interest in the book due to age. This book is definitely for older kids...closer to 4yrs. I'm sure it is an excellent book for that age group. It is high quality, has nice images, can't complain. I just wish I'd waited. Maybe they'll come out with a toddler version of Super Why. I hope they do.
