"Jack" by Cynthia Hepner is like a good hardy plate of food that feeds the soul. I took that from a line in her story, but it sure fits this tale. Coming home after the death of his father, Jack comes face to face with his past and learns that not everything is as it seems when he realizes as a kid you don't see the bigger picture that your parents see, especially when you want to leave home and start living the life you dream until it is time to go back to face what you so easily turned a blind eye too.

I love how Cynthia weaves this tale with down to earth heart touching scenes that have you chuckling one minute and feeling sad and tearful the next. Her story reminds me of when you visit friends and you get caught up in what is going on with their lives and it becomes a part of you. This two part story reminds me of a series on television that can go on and on with new adventures as Jack settles into his life.

Cynthia has well thought out characters and her style of writing is easy to get into. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and recommend it to anyone. I look forward to reading more of Cynthia Hepner's work.
