Grout has tilled this ground before in Let Me Teach You Golf as I Taught Jack Nicklaus and On the Lesson Tee: basic golf fundamentals. Here, he is more detailed on the mechanics of the golf swing, beginning with club selection, the short game, trouble shots, "mental" skills, and conditioning. Though Nicklaus states, "What you'll learn in this book is what Jack Grout first taught me . . . and what he's been instilling in me . . . ever since," the first Grout title already professes to have covered most of what he taught Nicklaus. His own foreword regards the "golf clinic" as "more a reference book to which the serious player or student of the golf swing might go for advanced learning." Overall, the book is standard.
