Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Mother Goose is doing the undead shuffle!

Every kiddie loves nursery rhymes—even the little ones in advanced state of decay who enjoy chowing down on human viscera. Now the twisted madmen who brought you It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies and Every Zombie Eats Somebody Sometime are eviscerating the beloved poems that once filled our tiny oozing childish brains. This time “Little Miss Muffet Turned on a Tuffet” into something putrid and smelly, and it’s “Three Undead Mice” scampering across our kitchen table. So enjoy these delightful zombie-infused ditties—a feast of gruesome fun for anyone who has ever known, ever been, or ever eaten a child!

I bought this book a few weeks ago and it arrived very quickly after purchase. It is smaller in size than I originally thought, but that doesn't really matter. It's a cute/funny item to have on our bookshelf. For the most part the illustrations are on the right side of the book with corresponding altered nursery rhyme on the left side.

This same person wrote the It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies Christmas Carols which had incredibly clever parodies. Definite 5 star book. So I thought I would give this one a try. It wasn't as good as the Carols. There were a few nursery rhymes that were pretty funny, but most seemed forced.

This is a cutesy novelty item but I'm not so impressed with the inventiveness of the nursery rhymes, I thought there would be more to them but I found them to be lacking in originality and word choice. It fits in well with my collection of zombie novels though.

First I am a "anything" zombie fanatic. This was adorable. I loved it. I read it with my friends and laughed. Good job on this!

First saw this book at the Library, got it and loved it and the art work! My son realized that the book was written and illustrated by the same people who did Every Zombie Eats Somebody Sometime and It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Zombies. I have 2 of these and want the last one also. It's on my wishlist!

Some of the rhymes made me laugh and some of them just made me wtf?

I gave this a four because not all the nursery rhymes, rhyme. Some of them don't make any sense.

Adorable in a great way! It isn't scary, so it is something I could actually read to children. It's just fun and cute. I enjoy it.

More About the Author

Michael P. Spradlin is the author of more than a dozen books for children, some of which have actually been published. He grew up in a small town in Michigan not far from the Indiana border, which may explain his irrational fear of Hoosiers. (Both the inhabitants of the state of Indiana and the movie starring Gene Hackman).

Surrounded by books in his formative years, he grew up loving to read, imagining himself the hero of numerous epic battles and indulging in his favorite pastime, which was smuggling fireworks across the Ohio border so that he could blow up his collection of Plastic Green Army Men and Matchbox Cars.

Michael is the author The Youngest Templar trilogy, The Spy Goddess series, and several picture books including the award winning Daniel Boone's Great Escape.

When not writing, he enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with his family and worrying over the fact that he really should be writing instead of doing other stuff. He lives in Michigan with his wife Kelly, son Michael, daughter Rachel and two dogs Willow and Apollo
