5.0 out of 5 stars It's better than you think!, May 15, 2005
I have looked at juicers, decided to go for the Green Star, then, thought I might want to see IF I would actually juice regularly. I was given the LaLanne for Mother's Day. I use mine 2 or 3 times a day, usually, and clean up is a breeze, in the sink or dishwasher. And, I was worried about tons of pulp-not so. I have a couple of tablespoons from 12 ounces of juice. I think the investment of time and produce is worth it. A glass of juice is better than coffee for a pick-me-up. The motor seems powerful, too. I don't know how long it will last, but I am completely satisfied. It's just so easy and economical to use! And-I love the flavor and the health benefits. Don't wait-buy this juicer. It's a good investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, easy to clean up, low price, EXCELLENT JUICER!, January 1, 2006
I have owned this juicer for over one year now, and when I first got it I juiced at least 2-3 times a day for four months. I was juicing to correct a health problem which was completely reversed all thanks to this wonderful juicer. I have used this juicer to juice just about everything you can imagine, and in high quantities, pineapple, coconut, even strawberries. Although the instructions say that soft things cannot be juiced, just as strawberries I had no problem at all as long as I put a few strawberries in, then half an apple, then more strawberries, etc. The problem with the softer fruits and veggies (greens) is that they turn to mush and need something to continue to push past in in the blade such as an apple or a carrot. If you juice things such as coconuts (wonderful!) just be sure to first husk it, pull out the meat only, and then know that it will wear your blade down sooner than if you just juice simple things like apples and carrots. There is a replacement blade kit that can be purchased from the manufacturer for around $15 which will keep your juicer in tip top shape leaving you with only dry pulp. Clean up IS easy as long as you clean up within 5 minutes of juicing. Since fruits and veggies have natural sugars they will dry and stick to your juicer if not cleaned right away. Also, the carrots will stain it a bit but that just shows that you are using your juicer rather than letting it sit on your countertop unused! By all means, try this juicer as I have used this juicer to produce over 7000 ounces of juice and am just now needing to replace the blade with a new, sharper blade for maximum juice extraction. You will love the flavor and health benefits of fresh juice, which was something completely new and wonderful that I experienced thanks to the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Juicer, November 17, 2005
I have owned many juicers and I know the key to any of them is the power. If you are going to process fruits and vegatibles into juice your juicer needs to have the power to do it consistently. This juicer has been the most powerful I have owned. I juice every day with this juicer for the last two years and it is still working like a new one. Clean up is NOT as difficult as many people are saying here. Others have mentioned that the basket blade is dangerous, that is COMPLETELY not true. I have removed this blade for cleaning THOUSANDS of times and haven't recieved even the tinyest of scrapes. This is a great product and it is being sold at a incredible price ( I paid the FULL price $159 on HSN ). I am actually purchasing another one for my parents.
