I have a wooden swing and I needed something it could hang from. This frame does the trick. I have it sitting on dirt so the safety factor of slippage is nil. I've had it for one season and it stayed out in the elements at all times. Still looks great.

I searched for a long time trying to decide on the best porch swing frame. I needed one for the swing I bought my parents for their second home. Unfortunately, I asked them where they wanted the swing to go and they decided to put the porch on the deck.

After considering building a frame into the deck, buying a wood frame, etc... I went with the bronze Jack post frame. It is perfect. It does not take up a lot of space and is still sturdy. The frame is low to the ground which would be a problem if you are tall and want the swing to be higher off of the ground. Also, because of the low stance of the swing, you will not be able to swing high and far. These are issues are not problems for where and how the swing is being used.

The delivery was as promised and even though the box was damaged, the frame was fine. It was easy to assemble. The finish has no noted defects. The color goes very well with the deck and the logs of the home. Of note, this was the least expensive frame option that I researched and yet it was most probably the best choice.

I would buy this product again.

The bronze finishing looks great and I do like the strength. Assembly is easy but requires your own tools as the manufacturer didn't include disposable nut wrenches. The only other drawback is that the instructions warn that a chain or cable must be used across the bottom (in the same direction as the cross bar) to prevent the legs from spreading when on surfaces such as tile or wood. That is not visually pleasing.

This last complaint isn't used in my rating but must be said. I ordered two and only received one so far but the seller says my order is complete. My guess is the shipping person didn't bother to read "two" (but their accounting did charge me for two). I hope this gets resolved quickly.

Update: I did notify the company and they sent the second one. I do not use the chain as the system has worked fine without the additional support if the legs are on firm ground.

I checked the reviews on amazon and was impressed by this product, so I ordered this swing frame. Shipping was done promptly, and I received the package in a couple of days. However, the box was badly damaged with all corners torn. It could have just as well been outside in rain- that is how flimsy the paper box was. When we opened it, we saw that there were missing parts: There are supposed to be four legs, but there were only three; there were no hardware (screws, nuts and bolts to assemble the frame) and there were supposed to be two support bars of which there was only one. There were no packing materials in the box- it seemed like all the metal pieces that were available were just thrown into the box with no padding whatsoever. Amazon was very good with helping us return the shipment at no cost to us. They asked if we would like a refund or if we would like to place a new order for the same product. When we asked if amazon would guarantee that the packing is properly done and that the parts are intact and complete in the box, amazon said that they cannot provide such a guarantee as they receive the shipment from a different seller. Therefore, we opted to get the refund. We were very eager to get this product as it is exactly what we want, but unfortunately, this experience has made us wary of placing a new order with this seller.

Had great hopes in spite of some negative reviews. Should have heeded the warnings. Arrived with only one of the three legs, falling into the "amusing but not useful" category. To return it, Amazon wants me to pay shipping? I don't think so...

The product is excellent! It is actually better than shown. However, I ordered this from Tool Hardware Shop through Amazon. Caution: Tool Hardware Shop was difficult to deal with. This was not Amazons fault. The 1st order did not arrive the second did with the box in pieces and pieces missing. I email Jack Post directly and they promptly provided the necessary replacement parts. I would purchase a Jack Post item anytime but not through Tool Hardware Shop. Tool Hardware Shop even lied to me and tricked me to remove my negative feedback for them. I will not be duped again. Jack Post is an excellent company but Tool Hardware Shop is not. Order the Jack Post item from another vendor.

The product is just great so far and very easy to put together.

Although the end of the packaging was kind of beat up the product was not effected.

This is an attractive bench swing frame with a beautiful powder coating, and easy to assemble using good quality hardware. Unfortunately it suffers from two major design short comings:

(1.) The swing attachment points are far too low to the ground. They need to be at least 24 inches higher off the floor. As they are I was forced to attach both chains on each end of the swing directly to the eye-bolt above (4 chains in all). This barely elevates the swing seat to a comfortable height. Using suspension springs was out of the question. The downside is that the short swing stroke feels more like a Tweedy Bird perch than a nice gliding swing!

(2.) There is no lower tie bar between the two A-frame supports to prevent a squatting collapse if overloaded on a slick floor. There are warnings in the assembly instructions to place only in a yard, and not a porch, deck or patio. But isn't this where most buyers want to use it? Even the photograph in advertisements show it on a paved surface (misleading). No optional extra hobble attachment is offered either.

The manufacturer badly needs to address these design deficiencies if they want transform a hardly adequate product into a great one. All it would take is a little more material and the value would be worth twice the price.
