This review is from: Jack and the Princess (Catching the Crown) (Mass Market Paperback)
Jack and the Princess by Raye MorganSilhouette Romance # 1655 - April 2003 Catching the Crown series - Book 1 of 4 Jack Santini hadn't known what he was getting into when he climbed the mansion's wall and dropped onto the upper floor balcony. He wanted the job as head of security, and what better way to prove he was the right man than to prove that he could find all the weaknesses. Karina Roseanova thought her summer was going to be boring, until the handsome man entered through her balcony window. Kari's the youngest of the royal family of Nabatovia, and she's been the most sheltered. She and her brothers are preparing to return to their country to reclaim their throne after a life long exile. But before they return, Kari must fulfill her duty and find a suitable husband. Not ever having a true friend, Kari confides in Jack and seeks his advice. But when she asks him to teach her how to kiss, Jack realizes that both of their lives could easily be ruined if he doesn't learn to resist her charm. Some may just groan over a fairytale story. In fact, I think I did but the groans were in pleasure at the enchanting love story unfolding. Ms. Morgan shows us how serious Kari takes her duty as Princess and how she desperately wishes not to disappoint her brother the Crown Prince. And she honestly thought she could fulfill her role, until she lost her heart to a common man. Only Jack is far from common. These two are wonderful characters. Kari is innocent but never naïve and certainly not silly. She's smart and dedicated. Jack is a great hero, strong and protective and insightful to Kari's needs. I loved the way these two grew, and how they found their path to a HEA.
