Format: Kindle Edition
The title of this book is misleading- when it was written the word 'romance' referred to the exploits of an individual. This story contains none of what we associate with that word. It's an action/adventure tale set in London between 1703 and 1724 about a thief who is on the run from other thieves and the law. It has lots of violence, chases, prison escapes, double-crosses, lost heirs and a broken-up family. Most of the book is set among thieves and cutthroats, and the author does a great job of showing the seedier side of society, as well as describing London's neighborhoods and landmarks. John Gay and William Hogarth make cameo appearances. Make sure that you understand the opening scene, because it introduces you to all of the characters and info you'll need for the rest of the story. If you like action stories you should really like this one.

At the moment of writing I have not finished the novel yet. My reason for writing a review now is not to discuss the book, but to warn potential buyers about the e-book. The Kindle version is littered with mistakes. It would seem that whoever scanned and uploaded the novel obviously has not checked it for word/letter-recognition errors.

Granted, it is a free book, but come on.

Perhaps I should include my resume with this review. I'll be glad to clean up this mess if the publisher can't do it.
