I have not read the book, but I can say truthfully that the film is brilliance..........not because of the special effects, but because of the factors like the sheer genius.....wait till you get to the end!! thats all I'm gonna say! The history of the legendary soldier, terrorist, assassin, known as Illich Carlos Martinez, Illich Carlos Ramirez, Illich Carlos.........the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Definite Hollywood Shoot-em-up
The only way to catch a gopher is to think like a gopher. Or in this case, to create his exact twin. The book might as well be a the script to the movie because it reads just that way. I have not read the book, but I can say truthfully that the film is brilliance..........not because of the special effects, but because of the factors like the sheer genius.....wait till you get to the end!! thats all I'm gonna say! The history of the legendary soldier, terrorist, assassin, known as Illich Carlos Martinez, Illich Carlos Ramirez, Illich Carlos.........the list goes on, with only one consistency, his codename, The Jackal. The story follows his history....demonstrating his unique ability to do the impossible, to outsmart, outmaneuvre, and stand up to western capitalism. Driven by a childhood of pain and suffering at the hand of the west, he grew in to the one operative feared by the UN too good for the CIA, MI6, Mossad, the only person who could possibly stop him, is he, himself. The US government would probably deny that there is any truth in this story, but I believe the truth comes out here, to tell the story of the legendary operative.

This falls into that area of purely no-brainer reading. If you don't want to think much for an afternoon, this is your book.
