Amazon.com Review

Based on the cartoon of the same name, archaeologist Jackie Chan embarks on a race against time to recover the eight Magical Scrolls of Kung Fu before they fall into the evil clutches of the Dark Hand. The game perfectly matches the cartoon's look and feel; the graphics are sharp and the music catchy. Uncle, Jade, and Captain Black are present, as are the various henchmen of the Dark Hand, including Hak Foo, Valmont, and the demon Shendu.

Jackie Chan Adventures: Legend of the Dark Hand is a side-scrolling fighting game, similar in some ways to Final Fight. Players have a huge array of kung fu moves, and you'll learn extra moves with each magic scroll you collect. Fighting is really fun--you can pick up items with your feet or hands, throw objects or enemies, and punch or kick just about anything on the screen. If you are a little rusty with your kung fu, the game offers a great training option that schools you on all the moves before you actually play. And with three difficulty levels, this game can be geared to just about any player.

If you're looking for a fun--and funny--game with huge levels and great kung fu action, look no further. Jackie Chan Adventures definitely delivers. --Bryan Karsh

Pros:

  • Animation and fluid kung fu moves nicely capture feel of the cartoon
  • Great training feature
  • Almost every object can be picked up, thrown, or smashed to bits
Cons:
  • Game-save points often hard to find

Very cool game, excellent graphics. I really loved it.
If you like the TV series then you'll love for sure this game. You won't regret buying this excellent game. This game is not that difficult to beat but it's not that easy either. I hope that in the futures they make more games.

5.0 out of 5 stars Butt-Kicking Fun, January 7, 2002
This review is from: Jackie Chan Adventures (Video Game)
I really like this game because you get to do all the fun stunts Jackie does and get to kick some bad-guy butt along the way. The game is great for some quick fun and entertainment. It is just hard enough to keep me interested but yet not so hard that I get bored with it and give up. Great for when you need 15 minutes of fun. You can actually get through a level and save your game within 15 or 20 minutes which is perfect for those of us on luch break at work looking for a little down time. It is reminiscent of Double Dragon for Nintendo with some Jackie Chan antics thrown in. I highly recommend it. It is great fun. Well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Game, August 23, 2002
This review is from: Jackie Chan Adventures (Video Game)
I really liked this game. there was enough fighting in this to keep me playing for a very long time. Also this game lives up to Jackie Chan with him using everything he can find ranging from a fish to a bamboo stick! all the enemies in this game were very difficult to sometimes just plain frustrating! Also the bosses in this game were very hard and you needed to figure out how to kill them. For example you couldent just go up to them and start punching and kicking them. One off the bosses attacks was to suck you up and spit you out so you had to figure out that once it started to suck in you had to avoid its attack and run behind it and attack it!! I would definatley buy this game if you like jackie chan, or his show(or if you just like a good portable fighting game!)!!
