A full spring schedule, although I'm glad to see she's apparently getting April off.

The album press release appears to be getting wide distribution. Here it is at Yahoo Finance, which I used to look at frequently.

LA,

This is not directed to you specifically but to all fans reading this.

When one's vocation is one's avocation it isn't really work to them. Climbing mountains is considered a lot of fun by those who do it for pleasure. To me it would be an enormously painful and traumatic task.

As a professional musician I "endure" long group rehearsals, many hours of personal practice sessions and the often challenging logistics of getting to and preparing for each performance. It's all worth it to me because I love playing. And Jackie loves singing. And Jackie has had many experiences that have already enriched her life beyond what a "normal" life would have afforded her. You can call it work. But it's way beyond that.

Jackie has plenty of time to decompress and have fun. It's been discussed ad nauseum here and elsewhere. No one can deny the Evanchos have done a great job in that regard. But Jackie has obligations to fulfill and a career to build. She will always be especially busy around the time of each new release. Let's not impose some vague work restriction on Jackie just because she reaches some random demarcation point of chronological age we call a teenager. It's a number. That's all.

Jackie claims she really doesn't practice. I'm sure she does when she is preparing for a recording session and a concert. Vocalists doing the types of songs Jackie is doing can get away with not practicing a lot. But an instrumentalist that is her age striving for mastery of their instrument would have to practice 2, 3 , 4 or more hours a day. When I was around Jackie's age I practiced 40 or more hours a week preparing for competitions. That's hard work. Jackie isn't working that hard. Flying around on a plane to various performances can be tedious and boring but it's not hard work. It's certainly not manual labor. Singing itself is physically taxing. But again if you love it you are enjoying the "work out" as it were.

True Jim. I guess that's why they call it playing an instrument instead of working an instrument. LOL. :-)

Doc , JJ . others - Oh I know and I understand what you are saying . I was reacting to the comment looking for another CD before this one is even out...... Let's hope all the fans are just as supportive and understanding if she decides to take a month or however long off, help out at Animal Friends, drawing, chasing hermit crabs at the beach or whatever. You are only 12-13 once.....

As I sit here this morning excitedily awaiting the first reviews and tidbits from Jackie's opening act of her second Great Performances 'Music of the Movies'. I reflect upon her accomplishments of the last two years. There are not too many people that have raised the awareness or invoked emotions within their fans as much as Jackie has while maintaining a grounded wholesome outlook on life.Even Michael had the backup of the Jackson Five,Donney had the Osmond brothers they didn't do it on their own as Jackie has done.
In my opinion Jackie has done more to bring an awareness of the CC genre to the North American audience than any other performer recently and is the first to bring that emotional connecton to her fans through her music. This was especially apparent in her very first live broadcast on AGT 10Aug 2010 when she stunned the world with her emotional adult rendition of O Mio Babino Caro. For many of us as fans we have simply hung onto the coattails of this accomplished rising star.
During her AGT run she raised the ratings to the point of having 16 million viewers on the final night, but it was during the AGT tour where it became apparent how much she influenced an audience. The fact that at the Nokia theatre she sang the Prayer for the first time after it had been modified and written in a way to allow her to sing as a solo while still maintianing all its emotional magic of the original and then putting her own stamp on it shows her commitment to do her very best to connect with, while entertaining her audience.
While touring the country with the AGT Tour she still managed to put out an EP called O Holy Night released the 16 Nov 2010 which went Platinum on 10 Dec 2010.Yes she was the youngest artist to go platinum, the youngest to debut top 3 on the billboard, as well as many other accolades at the end of the year, but what stands out the most for me about this EP, was the fact that in July 2011 it being basically a holiday cd would reappear on the billboards in July no less. Christmas in July.
During Nov 2010 and Dec 2010 Jackie went on several talk shows astounding the audience with her childlike innocence one moment and seasoned professional who emotionally connected with her audience the next when she began to sing. She worked the QVC one day setting a few records selling records but most of all in that busy season she took the time to give back with a red carpet charity event David Foster's foundation charity auction in Toronto, as well as appearing in the Canadian Tenors Christmas Special singing O Holy Night with the tenors. She sang at the Rockefellers christmas special with Katherine Jenkins and then at the national christmas tree lighting, where she announced she hoped her music would help make a difference for a better world, (paraphrased)
Throughout 2011 we the fans eagerly gleemed every passing tibit and U-tube video that came up on the internet as we followed Jackie's rise and development as a world class performer. In early 2011 she was a guest singer at a chefs save the seals campaign where she sang Nella Fantasia and became the Child ambassador for the American Humaine society. From her first concert at Boco Raton with the rising stars of the Met when she gave her spellbinding rendition of Nessun Dorma leaving no doubt in the audience that she was a future contender for world class superstar,to her musical performance at the church in Houston which was magically recorded by Papasmurf and so graciously offered on U-tube for our enjoyment to view.It brought a greater connection to Jackie's fans and we can never thank you enough for that magical piece of history.
Around her birthday she produced the Magical 'Dream With Me in Concert' at the Ringling Bros Musium in Florida and we all know the astounding success that her first Great Performances special has been.
This brings me to when I first met Jackie Live in Toronto on 31 May 2011 at Dundas Square. Even outdoors the power and connection she has with her audience was astounding and simply exceeded all my expectations. I videoed the performance and though the video is not the greatest the sound portion is fantastic and a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. After the concert she flew to Great Britain to appear as a guest on BGT while her Great performances special started on June5.It was carried by WTTW chicago where I spent the $75.00 pledging to obtain a copy of DWMIC
The rest is History as she did a mini tour across the states during the summer. Needless to say I followed her via the forums and internet like others eagerly gathering tibits of her performances. In doing so I have an extensive library of her development as a musical performmer and can say that she has dramatically improved her delivery while still maintaining that emotional connection with her audience.I look forward eagerly to the next chapter in her life as a performer with the second Great Performances special 'Music of the Movies'. For a twelve year old that has got to be a record that will go down in history as the begining of a superstar.
Hang onto your Hats folks and enjoy the ride for Jackie has some pretty long coattails.

Wow. Some songs Jackie takes as her own. Nella Fantasia, Dark Waltz, maybe even Only Time. Add Music of the Night. No wonder Phantom spoke to her. Like many have said, JME playing Christine would be epic.

That would make sense. It could become a realistic ambition one day to portray that role on stage, if she wanted to go in that direction.

Agreed, but it seems like destiny. This girl absolutely commands a stage.

Reflections surprised me. Magnificent. So far MHWGO, MOTN, and this one are gold standard quality. Big talent needs big songs. She is stunning. That's what I like most about her. She consistently surprises and blows me away.

Just finished. Jackie did this on her own and totally pulled it off.Another big step.As usual will need to watch several times to understand, as her talent level is above my ability to absorb it.
